Hi Spudfiles, I've been gawping at some of the amazing pieces of work on this site for a while, and while i don't really know much about the technicals, i want one... so i've came up with a plan for what i think is a fairly simple cannon.
it will be a pneumatic. and, well here's a semi-decent picture of what im trying to achieve.
It is powered by a bicylce pump =] which uses a one way valve, similar to those found on a bicycle tyre. which pressurizes a chamber, which releases pressurized air down the barrel, via a valve... now while this sounds all good, i have no idea wether it would even work lol

, also, what kind of valve should i use to release the compressed air? thanks guys

Hi, welcome to spudfiles!
For the release valve, you could use a QEV with blowgun for the best results.
And instead of duct tape, I'd recommend using those screw clamps which are like hose clamps, but then larger.

thanks psycix, i know what kind of clamps you mean, good idea, and i have no idea what a QEV with blowgun is =] elaboration would be appreciated =D but thanks for the reply and welcome.

Or is their some chamber I can't see?

You'll have to wait more than a few minutes

in the meantime, using the fantastic
Search feature on this site is a great way to pass the time and know more about the "technicals"

hmm looks like it would have alot of dead space, but that setup looks like it could be very good for your patented valveless design JSR, may draw up my own design for that and post it later

click on the picture to enlarge it, and you will see the chamber, bipod, and everything.

If you want knowledge, you should read the spudwiki. The link to that is on top of this site.
In the wiki you can find lots and lots of information, you can spend days to read it, and after that, you will know about everything you will need to know to build a GOOD spudgun.
