questions on 12 gram adapter

i'm trying to build this : http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/homemad ... 15727.html

and its not going so good, first of all, my disconnect doesn't even have a piston in it, and i don't understand how the 12 gram is supposed to go into this device.

could anyone who has made this please give me some insight? Just general, specific details?

well regular 12gr capsuals work by the cartrdge being threaded in and it seals on an o-ring at the bottom and there is a pin that it is threaded onto the puncture the cap.... so i guess that design works in a similar way (although i confess i didn;t understand it when i read it through)

um, sorry, i tend to think simply- couldn't you just use one of the cheap things you can get at bike shops that fill bike tires from a 12 gram?

the only problem i could foresee is that you might not have a schrader valve, but you could easily install one

well im not sure if all female quick connects have the piston with both the pointy and flat ends
the quick connect i used was a milton m style and i had all of the milton m style stamped on it

as far as fitting the 12 gram into the adaptor when the top is cut down to proper size which is different for each make the oring in it seals arond the neck of the 12 gram capsule
and then i just hold it in place until it drains into the expansion chamber then i just pull the empty capsule out and because the thing is spring loaded it self seals

Here's the simplest one I've seen, made by Brass Eagle and costs ~$20:

Two pieces, one's got a rubber seal with a hollow needle in the middle of it, the other holds the cartridge and screws down over the needle. How marpat holds a cartridge in his model, I have no idea.

i use a vice to hold the 12 gram and i just hold the gun with my hands while it charges

but i can not say that at the moment this adaptor is completely reliable since out of the 5 times its been tested it worked perfect 3 times, ok 1 time and failed miserably the other time

edit: i also find that size 2-010 orings fit wellarond the neck of the 12 gram if anyone is having problems with sealing
