Just a few pics of the MP5K PDW mod I'm working on. Its based off of the TV show and move Firefly. There is a huge event in Wisconsin every year for airsofters called Operation Freefall, which is again based off of Firefly. this is supposed to look like a captured Alliance weapon that the sub-human race known as Reavers have modified with other stolen/broken Alliance equipment. Just to give you an idea of the mind set of a Reaver they will, kill you, rape you, skin you, eat you and you'll be lucky if they do it in that order. Let me know what you think!

No matter how rich you become, how famous or powerful, when you die the size of your funeral will still pretty much depend on the weather.

The killing is usually the last item on the list, seldom the first.

It's looking like a good start, but if I were working on it, I'd be looking to add a bit more - either an extra order of "broken", or a number of spikes - nothing physically sharp, but things that are almost pointy.
I'm assuming you're building your mods over the basic MP5 frame on a non-permanent basis, rather than actually altering it - I'm guessing you don't want to do anything to the actual AEG.

On that note, I think that if you can find it, sections of leather "ribbon" wouldn't go amiss to be wrapped various bits like the grips and perhaps stock - not permanent, but effective, and certainly within the Reaver mindset. If you're asked about it, you can tell people it's the tanned hide of your last victim.

correct on all assumptions as usual Ragnarok. And I absolutely will be using your leather idea. I think I have some old deer skin leather that would do the trick quite nicely. A few crude stitches and a dab or two of red paint should work for the grips, as for spikes I'm thinking old pvc cut at funny angles possibly burnt or slightly melted and twisted and painted black or sliver in the re-occurring blood splattered theme.

Sounds good, a nice list of things that will help break up the shape and make it look less like an MP5 - it might be reasonably true to the show, in that a lot of the weapons they had were based off modern designs (if not just modern designs dressed up a bit), but the MP5 is a very recognisable silhouette, so to help to give it that air of realism, you want to try and avoid the eye jumping to the MP5, but instead to the "decorations".

But I'm sure you can do it, so I'll be waiting to see the results.

... And, thinking about it, I'm fairly sure I'm turning into the archetypical internet nerd, because I first heard about Firefly across the net, and managed to get into it based on just that.
I no longer watch TV, and all the programs I watch I view on my computer. I have downloaded and stored every single episode of Top Gear on my external hard drive, even the one-off specials, and the episodes of the Australian version.
That tells you what kind of a person I am, and how the world is changing, in that I now watch TV that wasn't even broadcast in my country not even an hour after it's stopped broadcasting on the other side of the planet.

No wait, it's worse than that - I've watched TV that wasn't even broadcast in my first language. I was watching an TV in German not all that long ago.

That top covering, with the bending and all looks really good. Add more of that sandpapery stuff you have on the sides, all over the place. And to reinforce what Rag said, nothing says reavers like spikes! They even went so far at to throw, as Joss called it, "spiky poop balls" at the crew in the showdown a the end of Serenity.

Agreed with the leather lashings, and also, you should "dirty" the bits of MP5 still showing with some judicious use of the drybrush and washing techniques.

Sorry JSR, love the idea of painting the gun but all of this has to be easily removed at the end of the day. The Freefall event is an anual two day event and Ill be wanting my MP5 back at the end of the 2nd day to be used the rest of the year as a normal gun.

Right, I thought it was going to be a permanent mod.

nothing on the inside just made a covering for the outside.

If you are not incredibly obsessed with Firefly, don't even try to understand any of this. He is trying to make it look like an old piece of shit, that hasn't been cared for in a good 100 years, and is as likely to kill the user as the target.

They live on broken down ships, slowly cruising through space, with their engines running without containment, risking frying their brains with the (I assume) radiation. Every once in a while, when they get hungry, they descend upon a fringe planet, and attack a city, eating everyone alive, and sew their victim's flesh into their clothing.
