B.O.S.S.
Bottle On System Sniper
Here's just a glimpse into my latest project - a retrofit of one of my copper guns to include an on-board regulated and controlled air system - refills in as short as 2 seconds (or less if I give it "full throttle" haha)!
I am using a 92 cu in 4.5K PSI tank that I also use for paintball to supply the air. It's output is a consistent 800PSI via tank regulator. Then it is run into a 0-300psi capable regulator, which feeds into the gun and also has a micro 0-300psi gauge to indicate chamber pressure so I can keep track of it during charging.
To fire it, you simply flick a lubricated 3/8" brass ball valve (very very easy to actuate) and SNAP!! at 200 psi (all I've done yet, as it's night now) it produces a nice sharp crack of report. Despite how it looks, you can hold your hand on the "handle" like any normal gun, and the thumb trigger just falls into place, and feels natural to the shooter, as if you basically just pull your thumb off the grip tube and there it is.
This gun is sure to produce some pleasing results! To accentuate it's consistancy with patched .54 caliber lead musket balls, i've fitted a dove tail rail on top which will later have a low power scope on it.
And without further ado -
The design - I would like to say is my own, because back when I originally made the two copper guns (both the 50 cal [pictured] and 75 cal where made almost 2 years ago now) I hadn't seen anything like it. the upright connecting to the "tee" which the valve sits in is the handle, if anyone wondering, sorry no fancy play-do handles for me! just functional copper lol.
Let me know what you guys think! I can't wait to fire this gun tomarrow at 200+ psi. And for anyone wondering, This is my "side project" to bide time until I can cart "10 gallon" over to a properly sized shooting range. This gun I can shoot in my back yard - 10 gallon needs a VERY big backyard, which mine is not! lol

volume is appx 58 cu in (the whole stock is 1.25" copper), barrel is 5 ft of 1/2". Both type L I believe. I may buy a QEV, someone point me to a cheap one suitable to vent this beast (and my other guy just like it) and I'll think about it lol.
The valve is your normal piston valve, port enters through to about half way in the Tee. Sealing face for the piston is a cut up flange gasket - perfect meaty material for high pressures.

740fps and 95ft/lbs with a 5 gram marble not bad for something completely portable that can be filled extremely fast if you could find a 1gram projectile 1115fps
I was more thinking: "I see a scope mount. He should think about fitting a scope".colty-bear wrote:i see you have a scope mount you should think about attaching a bipod
Neat work on this, it's my kind of thing.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Did someone say add a scope? CHECK! 4X32 power scope made for airguns lol... just picked er up lol. woulda had it on last night but the store was kinda err how you say closed?
You'll probably need to shift that scope forwards some way to make it usable.
Take for example where I needed to fit HEAL's scope, or my air rifle scope.

Yea I will prolly spin the dove tail mount around, and push the scope forward - it only needs to go forward about an inch to be ergonomically "perfect" lol.
Here's some weights of projectiles I will be shooting with this thing if anyone cares (ggdt stats?). weight's taken on a gram scale with .01 gram accuracy... no I don't deal coke lol.
and now... to shooting! gimme some idea's what you want to see shot at guys, for now I have an old road sign, if it makes it through I'll cut it and see if it can make it through "two" signs and etc lol.

I've planned out o many guns with onboard air and regulators but since I don;t paintball , buying all those things from scratch always bumped the price to high, great job with this.

Yea to get the parts for the on-board air system, I already had the regular brass fittings, and the tank, so I just bought my friends ION paintball gun (complete sans barrel) and gutted it lol, I might put the ion into a wooden frame someday, or make like a turret gun, but i dunno lol I basically got a working ion for only $75 lol... I already have an invert mini for paintball tho so I have like no need to rebuild the ion.
Oh yea, I'm ordering a 3/8" barrel for this as well, which will most likely shoot even lighter marbles and ball bearings lol.
