My most expensive project is done..cutinng the chit chat
a BEAST is what this is..
chamber uses about 3.1 feet of 1'' copper pipe
barrel is about 3 inches longer then the chamber
pilot is a 1/2 qev
Features:
Custom molded epoxy putty grip
UltraLight piston made from nylon i think?

Fires:
AA batteries
Hornady .50 cal lead blackpowder balls with a tiny bit of wadding

Ill get the video up soon so keep watching this thread
I have an air conditioner project comming up so this will be taken to 450psi or so
right now im using an air compressor and toping it off with my shock up at around 200psi and thats the damage you see form AA batteries
the battery wedged inside is 70 psi..

Piston..
I made this from using my hole saw and drilling out a thick plate of nylon? Then shaping it slowly with an extacto knife and some sand paper the oring is a floating oring groove was made from an exacto knife....im pretty sure its nylon but its reall hard stuff 1000ft lbs from my old punuematic couldnt break it only dent it

PICS!
Btw this is my first time soldering
OH yeah and the gun is coated it 3 layers of lacquer so i dont have to polish it anymore:}

Beautiful gun mate, can't wait to see how she goes with the pressure raised up!

let me be the first to say.... WOW.
that’s a great job, and that epoxy handle looks really nice.
even at 70 psi its fairly good, cant wait to see it in action after you get it going at 450psi.

I have always wanted to make a copper gun of this configuration. So sexy.

Only improvement I see is to add a QEV at the pilot area to decrease the pilot volume behind your piston (and release it faster)

I use this method in my cannons and the power gains are mind boggling.

Also, sweet grip :D

Wow... awesome work... and even more awesome power. I would look even more awesome with the pilot tube running closer to the gun, maybe solder it to the side of the chamber (if it's possible), but the gun is awesome anyway!

I actually hard-piped my trigger hose in with 1/8 inch pipe nipples. It held everything in really nice, and looked REALLY clean. Not to mention you do away with compression fittings, which dont like being moved around alot....

Very nce, digging the custom epoxy grip. Mind sharing any details on how you made it? I.e. Did you put the putty in a bag and squeeze it? Or a different method?

Just an idea for you...

A old cake pan makes an excellent target for AA battery's.
Makes an impressive dent.... if it dose not go through.

Side note.... my AA gun will shoot through 2 of em... and then through an old mattress ...errr i mean my backstop.

looks pretty good. those hornady balls are .49'' in diameter. you can buy patches that are .010'' for muzzle loading, which if your barrel is exactly .5'', will be a perfect fit.

By the way, excellent choice of shock pump :D

Nice gun. Clean build, especially the grip and trigger give it a nice touch.

A scope would look good on it.

Well done!

well any ways, i think you should do something like this for a stock
Image
just an idea :P
hmm im not to sure whats up with that black halo around the gun, but is just a basic stock with some urban camo, and a cheap short scope.
