I am using a HPA 3000psi paintball tank that is regulated to 800psi, i figured that i would need to regulate it to about 100-200psi so I could use it in my vortext block gun. Would this CO2 regulator work for HPA air

*Also is there a way to mod the preset regulator on the tank?*

Thanks

i dont think it a good idea because the CO2 regulators have a low flow, and for the bbmg you need high flow and for modifing the preset of the regulator i think you should change a short of spring or something like that in the regulator

That definitely won't fit your paintball tank, different thread, but some members have had success with similar regs, have a look here: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/sodastr ... 22079.html

Ninja tanks can be taken as low as 450 psi by removing shims from the reg spring, this might be possible with other brands if you can take it apart.

You can drop it down to 450 without a separate new reg.

JSR has got a good source there. Just make sure you get the right one for your configuration. You can order a regulator from Palmers that is 0-200psi or 0-800+psi. If you don't need to go over 200, I would suggest the low pressure version for safety. They are reasonably priced and work well.

Another point about pressure in BBMGs, pressure in the actual chamber is nothing like what you're putting in. I remember testing my vortex with a pressure gauge on the BB chamber, I was putting 115 psi in but the chamber pressure didn't go above 25 psi.

You're basically pouring water into a bucket that has a hole in it.

Still, there's always the possibility that a BB will get jammed in the breech and you will get an overpressure in the chamber, but you could always fit a pop-off safety valve.

Thanks, but is there a cheaper alternative, I have heard that you can modify the stock reg on the tank to bring it down even lower.

Yes, remove the belleville discs inside the regulator replace them with a strong spring.

How do you do this? Im planning to use the Ninja tank and need to bring it down to 110 PSI.

Thank you!

Now is that spring from the handle or an internal part? And do you have a approx guess on the weight of that spring in-case I can not find a freebie?

Yes it's from the handle. The length of it doesn't matter much, just remove less or more belleville washers.
