This i my first try using a QEV and I´m very happy with the result:)
I´m using the gun on 8-20 Bars pressure
I´m using:
a fire extinguisher of 1.25 liters that can hold up to 30 bar,
The original extinguisher pressure guage which I vill replace soon,
I´m using a QEV that is 3/4 inch 19 mm
And a ball valve to pilot it
Here is some pictures of the build:
The extinguisher before I put my hands on it:
After:
And here is the adapter I made for for the guage
Closeup on the QEV:
And here is the pilot valve and quick connect mounted on the tank
The scope
And some pictures of the complete gun
The ammo
The gun has now been pushed to 20 bar, and still hasn't exploaded in my face

ze chamber... it's too big !!
get a lenght of 1/2" pipe and use that as your chamber and the extinguisher as the reservoir/air tank

Very nice build! The chamber is a bit big so like POLAND_SPUD said, you could have it as an air reservoir instead, have a much smaller chamber and use a slide valve or similar to make the gun semi-auto.

Thanks everyone for the positive respons:) yes the chamber is little big, I have been thinking on making it semi-automatic but I still haven't found a clean design for it but i'm planning on it:)

I don't think it's unnecessary when I can use it to hit small targets att 20 yards or even longer while using it:)Zeus wrote:Nice work, huge chamber as others have said, and the scope is completely unnecessary.
Well, considering the potential accuracy from a smoothbore is fairly limited, a set of iron sights would be adequate, and if you're set on having optics, a red dot would be perfect.
[hunting] I use iron sights on my .22lr out to 120m, and get a fair few bunnies at 70-80m. Optics aren't essential. Still waiting on a >100m shot on a fox.
[/hunting]
Good work on the optics mount too, it's a scope torch mount right?
And last time I checked hunting with a firearm isn't in the rules.

Is there any way to calculate how small chamber I can use before I'm loosing power? I want the chamber to be as small as possible so that the extinguisher last for as mant shots as possible:)

download GGDT it can help but if you go with a chamber same volume as your chamber you'll be fine.GustavssonB wrote:Is there any way to calculate how small chamber I can use before I'm loosing power?
