Hi all, I've been lurking here for a little bit now trying to find what I need without bothering anyone but after my latest literaly deafening experience of blowing up a rubber shrader valve In my face I figured it was proabally a good time for advice.

Im building a semi auto qev slide valve" splatball" shooter.
Thanks to this site I have all the important parts but I believe I need different reg.
I'm chasing a cheap co2 reg (under $35aust dollars) for my soda stream bottle. I've got the brewing adaptor already and have everything else already working also installing a relief valve for safety too after my resent failure. I just need a reliable reg. I believe the one I have is a flow reg aimed at aquariums as there is no gauge and the longer time between shots the harder it shoots ( till something blows up that is) I'm in Australia so i here option are slim . I have two options I've found so far on ebay but as I'm on my phone I can't post the links. Plus I'm sure you guys will have better options anyway. Any help is welcome, Thank you

Hi, and welcome to spudfiles. I myself have had the same proplem using a flow regulator. And it seems to have a good useful regulator you need to spend a wee bit of cash.

This is the unfortunate truth, regulators are one area where you can't really skimp on spending a bit more to get a quality product.

Thanks guys. I'll have to look around some more. Not sure if I'd get in one of those palmers into Australia. Would this one be any good? (First pic sidnt work) Similar to the second one Gabriel s posted. Cheers again guys

I think the general rule is that if it's cheap, Chinese and sold for aquaria, it's not going to be safe or reliable.

Ok I'm understanding I'll need to spend more. But I have a few questions.
the second reg Gabriel s put up only goes to 100psi on the gauge. Does that mean that is the highest output ill get? Cause I'm looking at alot of brewing regs and most only go to 60 or 80 psi. Then again I'm not sure what I'll need for my shooter anyway but I assumed more than 60psi.

Second query, does anyone know if palmers are legal to ship into Australia?

Typically a gauge range is matched with the output.

I can't think of a reason why not, this is pretty draconian but there's no mention of regulators.

Ok cool, suppose ill be trying to find a higher output reg, or risking a fare bit of $ trying to get a Palmer then.

Ebay a used Palmer regulator. I got one for $24 USD.
