Hello. i recently purchased a QEV and it is proving difficult to get it working! iv'e put a spring behind the plunger, attatched an air tank which i fill into directly from a schrader valve at ~30 psi to the port marked A. and i have attatched a blowgun trigger valve onto the port marked -P-

basically i have a qev with a pressurised air source connected to -A- port and a valve connected to the -P- port and air just flows freely out of the -R- port, even when under pressure. do i HAVE to fill from the Pilot port?

Please offer some advice, as i am getting increasingly frustrated.

Sounds like you need to make an equalization hole in the rubber piston in the qev. Right now air can't get past the piston so it is just going straight out the exhaust. Make sure the hole is very small, on the outer skirt, and doesn't interfere with the sealing face

alright then. thanks for the advice, it sounds like it may work. i am also having issues with air flowing out of the R port while i am filling my air chamber, this is whilst the QEV is supposed to be closed. do you have any advice on that? thanks very much.

If you were using the qev as intended (filling and pilotting with the P port) this issue wouldn't arise because the qev is designed to operate that way.

With your set up, which is typically used for pop-off full autos, or in your case a lack of a 3 way valve I'm assuming, you have to have a way for the air to get behind the piston to hold it on the sealing face.
