Long story short.... I'm looking for a high volume air pump good to about 300 psi that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Mind you, I know it's not like I'm going to find something like that for $100 at Harbor Fright, but I don't have $100,000 to spend either.
Thoughts?
Sourcing large volume high(er) pressure pumps?

Can you better define "high volume"?
Available options to power it? ie low pressure air, electric, IC engine.
Requirements for a safety factor @ 300psi?
Regulatory compliance??
Rough budgetary amount?
Edit; This one's under a $100G....

High volume: Call it 50 CFM or better.
Power: Pretty much anything.
Safety factor: Not willing to modify COTS hardware, but anything good by ASME is good by me.
Regulatory compliance: CARB (if gas/diesel).
Budget.... Not sure. Could be up to $50k but I'm hoping for less.

I'm not sure of the cost but I think that pressure range is still commonly availbe from the big compressor companies like ingersoll in portable units like those often used with jackhammers. Would you consider used or are you looking for New to insure reliability?
If you already have 100 psi air there is this sort of thing. I can't find a specific US brochure but they do distribute here.

Tough bill...flow rate is very low for anything industrial that will make the pressure.
Is high pressure air storage an option between shots? (Assuming this has something to do with Vera or a "sister".)
These folks may be able to help...phone calls are cheap.

Another eBay find, and another company that looks to be a good option , Hycomp

Also from what I've been seeing it seems there's less equipment available in the range of 250-1000 psi. Looks like up to 2-250 is available in essentially the standard low pressure form, then 1000 and up is available in a multistage high pressure format. There appears to be a decent availability of surplus on the 1000+ units. It seems the 300-600 range is generally produced with a booster compressor taking in 100 psi from a regular plant air system.
