[/img][/img]Working on a cannon that needs to shoot foam stress balls 30’ at targets. I have found it takes about 60psi to propel the balls that far with my small secondary tank.
Only have 30 seconds to get the most targets possible.
Right now I have a 10 gallon tank at 100psi with a pressure regulator feeding a second tank at 60psi. I can get about 10 shots before the 100 psi is too low to build 60 in the second small tank.
But it’s a bit clumsy as I need to shut a ball valve between the big and small tank each time I fire or it will drain the large tank on that shot. I could replace this with a sprinkler valve with solenoid to automate it some.
But , is there an easier/simpler way to get 10 shots out of the tank without extra valves and the praise regulator???
PS I do own a lathe and can make some simple things on it.

Have you tried a smaller chamber? that would reduce the volume used each shot.

If you leave the main tank open and just squeeze the pilot blowgun very quickly, does it dump the whole tank or does the sprinkler valve re-close?
Using a momentary valve is a much more efficient way of going about multiple shots than filling and dumping a firing chamber.
I'm not sure a sprinkler valve will work in this application, assuming they re-close fast enough then having a momentary pilot would be one of the best solutions, without the need for a secondary air tank.

If I leave the ball valve open it does dump a bunch of air out of the main tank. Will take a look at that link.

Yes having the ball valve open does dump a bunch of air from the main tank on each shot.
