So i am thinking about buying a supah for my air cannon which has a 4"*5' tank and a 2inch by 8ft barel and i was wondering if the supah would work fro my problem.

i would recommend it, however, a longer barrel woul take better advantage of such a massive chamber. You coul cut that chamber back 1 1/2 feet and expect nearly equal performance.

Why not make the valve your self and save some cash?

i would but how do you build one really fast. and thanks for the suggestions they have been duelly noted. and anymore thoughts would be appreciated.

No I haven’t but it’s basically supah valve, so it should work.

yes they work and when buying stuff from Joel Expect LOOOONG delays. The valves work great though but i wouldnt pay that much for a valve though.

so has anyone actualy built there own valvue like a supah.

Sgort is now selling quality barrel sealing valves.Also constructed with the use of a lathe.Look it up on spudtech forum.

He's cheaper and I feel barrel sealers are way superior to chamber sealers.

The real question isn't wether Gort or Joel make the better valve, its really just a question of if chamber sealing or barrel sealing valves are faster. Does anyone know which is faster?

I believe that chamber sealers open a little slower.

If you need the valve soon, then Joel does a good contruction job, but expect it to arrive in a few months or so.

Gort - I don't hear much about his shipping times, so I can't advise you there. I would assume that it is a good deal less than Joel's though.

Building a barrel sealing piston valve is nowhere near impossible. With the right knowledge and components, you can survive even without a mass of experience. My first barrel sealer worked alright, and I was using very poor components.

Joels 'supah' is made with a metal lathe which is in fact more accurate then that of a wood lathe. His 'supah' is tried and true, it works every time. By that I mean he hasnt made just one that has worked, hes been able to replicate the design, functioning every time. The 'Supah' is very nice looking, looks just like a PVC part youd buy from the store. Its very clean, and as far as I can tell no signs of coloration, stains, or dings on the exterior of the valve. The 'supah' piston is machined from type two PVC which is impact resistant.

Joels 'supah' is more expensive versus Gorts 'mauler' while maintaining the same inlet size, although a larger outlet size. 'Supahs' have quite a long waiting time on them though.

Gorts 'mauler' is cheaper then that of a 'supah'. The few hes made appear to work well. You will also receive your 'mauler' much quicker then that of a 'supah'.

Gorts 'mauler' is made on a wood lathe, not as capable of close tolerances. He will claim his is just as accurate using the power of 'eye-balling'... His piston is made from PVC fittings machined with grooves to accept o-rings. He has only made a few of the valves, on of which I understand to had a 'leaking problem'. So one might experience having a problem with a 'mauler'. The 'mauler' doesnt have as nice as appearance as it could. 'Gunk' can be spotted on the 'Spears' logo on one of the fittings. There appears to be dings and dis-coloration.

-Of the few one to knowledge has not functioned properly

-Piston is made from sch 40 PVC fittings [Not made to any amount of impact resistance]

Plow as I understand will test the two on there performance, and which is 'better'. That is why I have made no reference to performance in my analysis.

for this do you think i could use 2 sprinkler vavles to do my job instead.
