What would fit paintballs better?

1/2" SDR 21 or 3/4in sch80????

I was told that sdr21 is hard to find?

Tell me what you think.

I always used 3/4" sch80. but if you want a perfect fit do what i did and take a crappy paintball gun and remove the barrel then jamm the end into a pvc fitting then glue the sh1t out of it.

1/2" SDR 13.5 is the best fit you can get, if your hardware store doesn't have it, use 3/4" CPVC.

.68" rigid aluminum tubing... its what they use on real paintball guns; somewhat expensive for a small size however ($2.50 a foot)

try and use some sch 40 if you can i have some and it gets up to 600 psi

You really need to know what you're talking about before you start saying this $h!t If you knew what you werew talking about, you would know that sch 40 doesnt fit paintballs as good as sch 80, and you would also know that sch 80 can hold MUCH higher pressures! i just have one thing to say: RESEARCH!!!

I've still got about 2' left over from the last time. For some reason, McMaster must have bumped up the price of it. When I bought it, I got everything, (including self-aligning compression nut and some other crap I needed), for under 20 bucks. If you've got a store around you that sells hydraulic/pneumatic actuators, valves, and tubing, try there, and bring some calipers or, if you want to look stupid, a paintball. Ask them for rigid 3/4" hydraulic tubing. Also, look for a "self-aligning" compression nut so that your barrel doesn't run off at an angle from the gun.

Do you really need the self aligning compression nut? I have used several barrels with the compression fitting that did not "self-align", and had success. The self-aligning compression fittings certainly have a higher pressure rating though

In a normal one, there's an "olive" inside the compression nut that fits over the tubing. When tightening, it's pretty hard to get that olive to stay straight inline with the nut. On a self-aligning fitting, there's a "cone" that's attached to the nut from the inside which stays straight during tightening.

There have been a couple of times in which I got a normal compression nut from Home Depot and used it on copper or aluminum, (1/4"), tubing, and had the stuff go bonkers to where I had to bend it the right way with pliers when I was done tightening.

Think about it nub a paintball has an outer diameter of .68 of an inch, how would it fit in a .5" hole?

And we know its 3/4 read before you post.

3/4" in sch 120 would be the best fit, I know that harvel makes it but finding it would be another question. If all else fails got to www.onlinemetals.com and get a piece of .75" OD pipe with a wall thickness of 0.035 and that will give you a ID of 0.68

1/2" SDR 13.5 is a very good fit, not the best, but good enough. It is thin wall though so don't use it in a coaxial or in any configuration where it will be under pressure.

3/4" CPVC is also good, and is rated for a higher pressure but cannot solvent-weld to PVC well. You can always get a male adapter and thread it into your gun.
