This is my 1st spudgun not counting my BBMG, and I built it sunday afternoon. For the time it took me to put it together I think it looks fairly decent. At 75psi, it shot a aprox. 0.10 lb projectile very fast and I'm guessing it left the barrel at about 130mph (i don't know how fast it went for sure, i just used this speed cause it sounded right =P ).

Do ya'll like the look and performance of my gun, or have any suggestions for better looks and performance?

Specs: (its all sch40 pipe and fittings)

Barrel: 2" pvc its about 1.5ft long
Elbow joints and the smaller pipe size: 1" elbows 1" pvc pipe
Air chamber: 3" pvc i used a 3x2" flush bushing and a 2x1" bushing
Valve: 1" watermaster sprinkler valve (i filled that hole with JB Weld)

It is very sturdily constructed for your first pneumatic. It's also very clean.
If I were you, I'd add a barrel support to put less stress on the elbows, but other than that, I really like it! BTW, I like your avatar.

Is it cemented together? If so, great job. Clear primer and cement I assume? You either solvent welded the bushings in poorly, or they're DWV, or you haven't cemented yet.
Oh, and also, removing the blowgun's safety tip will allow it to vent the sprinkler faster.

Nice clean job. Just add some supports and some handles and it would look sweet as :thumbright:

Very clean build, cannot spot any glue, or primer stains. The butted fittings look nice as always, although I am unsure as to why you didn't butt the two elbows on the 180 degree transition. Possibly so the left hand can grasp the barrel between the chamber, and barrel? Might had advised if that was the case that you cut a coupling in half, and slipped that in there to keep that smooth look going. Looks as if you used a DWV reducer for the first reduction?

Again very nice, just offering up some criticism. Defiantly remarkable by any means for a first time build. (Well potato launcher at least)

Also if you wouldn't mind, could you add some specifications, such as chamber/ barrel size, to the original post? Also what you use in the solenoid port of the sprinkler valve? It turned out looking very nice.

Nice clean looking gun. No stains or anything. Wish I had a place to get some clear primer around here. Seems like the blowgun is at a weird angle though. Might be easier to fire that way for ya, I usually have my valve on the top to cut down on dead space and it also lets you have the effect of an actual trigger like actuation with the blowgun being in a more rifle-like position. Great job for your first gun though. 2 thumbs up.

Nice and clean. What else can I say, Good job. Now I got to make one just got to find out where I can localy find the sprinkler valve that can handle 300 psi I'm planning an all stainless one or steel which ever can handle 300 psi "Space Balls" for the name LOL (golf balls)

thats VERY clean for a first spud cannon. many compliments to your workmanship its nice work there. good on you. cant wait to see more from you mate. keep it up. i especially like the way you haven't used a hose like some people use and the blowgun is pretty much straight onto the valve very neat way of doing it that i haven't seen before. nice work 8)

Thanks for the complements on my pneumatic. Sorry i couldn't reply sooner for i have been at school all day. I actually modeled this after Joel's design. I will soon add some supports to my gun to keep the elbow joints from cracking off. I used clear pvc solvent weld primer and i tried to clean up the gun real nice by using pvc pipe cleaner. I also need 2 add a pressure guage. I have 1 on my bike pump, but i cant use that 1 when i am usin my dads compressor. I also do not think i will be building any more cannons any time soon, but i will rather further mod this one probably for airsoft use.

i made that space between the two elbows so i could put a 2.5" barrel (which is what i really wanted instead of the 2") on when i got around to getting one. i will post some specs soon

I dont know about a stock... I like to fire it from the hip. But if I ever decide to make another launcher and make it from sch80 and use it to go skeet shooting with, I will give it a stock. But for now, it stays like it is.

what type of PVC is that is it just normal or industreal grade? also those caps on the end what are they called because i am building somthing but i am woried about the strength of the caps and pvc
