I'm looking for a good high pressure (250 psi +), 1", metal, electrically operated valve for an air cannon. Are there any good options other than sprinkler valves which all seem to max out at 150 psi? Will the 1" and 3/4" valves used in air suspension systems work.. like these http://www.xtremevalves.com/products.html ? Thanks.

those valves that you have posted are nothing but metal sprinkler valves. you do know that pnuematicy accuated valves open litteraly 3x faster than electronicly accuated valves dont you?

why would you want is electric anyway? but to answer your question, yes, the ones you have posted will work.

I'm using electronically operated valves so I can activate them remotely. These valve seemed interesting because they are rated up to 800 psi and the 3/4 350 psi model is $50... I just can't seem to find dealer that sells a 1" model.

Can't you use a pneumatically actuated valve then hook it up to a solenoid for remote operation?

I'm having a hard time picturing this. Do you mean attach a sprinkler valve to a blow gun that is attached to a modified sprinkler valve, or somehow attach a solenoid directly to the blow gun?

No, I meant having a pneumatically actuated valve like a QEV hooked up to a blowgun for triggering - and then using a separate solenoid to actually pull the blowgun trigger.

It would take a pretty strong solenoid to actually move the lever of a blowgun.

True, but the problem at hand is that sprinkler valves aren't rated for the pressures he wants to use - so if they're not good enough for the main valve, they're not suitable for actuation either.

and yeah, it would have to be quaite a hefty solenoid

ok this sounds a bit primative but cant you just rig up a pull string to open a spring loaded ball valve for acuation of a QEV like this ball valve http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=115&

i may be mistaken, but arent most qevs rated only to like 125?

no there are some for 200 psi like hotwireds, I think.

well my solutions solves the pneumatic acuatin problem but as for a 250 psi plus valve make piston. it would save you tons of cash and would be very high flow

I've said it umpteen times, its 300psi

However the only 1" QEV's I've seen are insanely expensive compared to the 3/4" ones from the same range.
