i have heard people say that they hold 150 psi before they explode but I wouldn't go over 50 or 60

Well, they have been tested up to 160 psi, but NEVER try to take them up that far. It really varies by brand, so to be safe don't take it over 75.
Plenty of people will say otherwise, but for your own sake stay under 75.

Best advice, don't use a bottle. Haha, but you should be good to about 75 I think.

Personally, I would stay away from bottles. PVC is cheap, and solvent welding is not that hard. Besides, you are going to have to work your ass off to attach the threads on the bottle to a valve and barrel.

WEll the bottle wouldn't hurt too much, unless you had it between your legs... WHo was it that tried that stunt? I forget. Anyway, don't do it.

A bottle ruptured between a guy's legs... Dear god.

I think it just laft a gash in his inner thigh, he got off lucky. But whoever wants to try it again, watch out for two things; femoral artery, and the family jewels.

Back when i was building "bottle Rockets" for my nephews i got them to get about 100 psi saftley But i wouldn't suggest going over around 75-80
Also Try and find thicker bottles they produce higher Psi

I had a small soda bottle explode on me at 40 psi but I've launched two liter bottle rockets at over 60 psi. I'm using a two liter soda bottle right now, but I'm going to switch to pvc, which is stronger and easier to connect. 8)

There was a darwin award given for a guy who had a dryice bo*b explode between his legs, he now has a pair of silcon testes. i like those books, you cant help but laugh at some peoples lack of common sense.
On topic: I have wanted to use a sida bottle for a while now, but i guess ill stick with pvc, like the knappengineering said its easier to connect.
