Anti-Personnel Mine

Problem: bolt action airsoft snipers suck at close range no mater how much power they have, especially against AEGs
Solution: a remotely detonated mine to use to both distract and terminate targets
*i have intentionally made this mine underpowered to avoid serious injury (most of the kids i play wear shorts)*
this mine was made just as any other pneumatic cannon would be, it uses a unmodified sprinkler valve to fire. but there is one thing that sets it apart from other cannons... its detonated by a modified cell phone! here are some pictures of version 2 (v1 would randomly detonate without warning so i rebuilt it but i still have a few problems to work out... for example i can activate this mine by turning on a light switch. i dot think this will be a problem because we play deep in the woods most of the time)

heres a picture of all the electronic components. at the top of the photo you can see the solenoid from the sprinkler valve. moving down a bit more on the left you can see the detonator (aka cell phone). now if we move to the right a little more we can see a spool with green wire on it, this is the antenna. i usually put the mine close to a tree so the antenna can be wrapped around the tree. on the far right of the photo is the box the majority of the electronics are contained in. it is part of an r/c car chassis (a cheap $15 one from kb toys) at the bottom of it is a battery holder that stores 4 AA batteries, these power the r/c car receiver. the motor output wires from the receiver are connected to a 5v relay which is connected to the big 9.6v battery pact (the bottom of the picture) and the solenoid. basically when the forward button is pressed on the remote the receiver picks up the signal and turns on the relay which allows power to flow to the solenoid which opens the valve detonating the mine. i coated all the electronics in this box with hot glue then covered the whole thing in electrical tape.

here we have a picture of the whole mine. i will now tell you what i mean my modified cell phone basically i reverse engineered the r/c car transmitter and miniaturized it a bit, then soldered the wire which would usually connect to the forward button on the remote to the end button on the phone and i modified the 9v battery connector so it would accept smaller batteries (like the ones found in car key fobs)

heres the mine from a different angle
heres a video of it in action
