My latest cannon (lol my first) is very loud, the chamber volume is probably to large. GGDT indicates that removing a ft of chamber will only drop the velocity by 30fps and I was wondering if that would quieten down the gun a little. IS sacrificing 30fps worth it?
I would say its worth it. What is the C:B? Anything above 3:1 i have heard is a waste of air, it doesn't increase performance by much, compared to noise and energy going into pumping it up.
If the chamber is huge, which is sounds like it is, you will need a very large, very good silencer.

increase your barrel length. my barret 14mm is silent now that i have a 6 foot marble barrel on it............... also shoots fast enough to bury darts all the way into treeeeess............. so i only see them if i look down the hole they made................

I would go with the above, a longer barrel would make more use of the available air and give you a quieter shot and the benefit of increasing power. On the other hand, a smaller chamber would make your launcher more compact and easier to pump up.
