Here is my first effort. I left the barrel length at 8 ft as that's the length it came in, and stuck with the in-line for my first build
The guy at Home Depot knew exactly what I was doing when I showed up at the PVC isle with a BBQ igniter in the bottom of the cart. He turned out to be a "Spudster" himself and gave me lotsa advice. Including "The longer the barrel etc..."
We never saw the tater leave on the first shot but on subsequent shots the spud was traveling straight and level, and at a great rate f knots, when it disappeared from view.
I incorporated the "Pistol Grip" for appearances, but it also became a part of the combustion chamber. I taped the igniter button to the side of the grip so as to be thumb actuated.
My first effort

Nice simple cannon reminds me of my first except just a little bigger than it.
Thanx, for your input, guys.
To answer JRRDW's question, originally I had the internal igniter unit installed above the pistol grip to minimize wiring and improve appearance. This proved to be a mistake as the ether didn't vaporize fast enough. So, I had to cut the chamber to install a device of my own making. Worked like a charm,
Now, I'm off downstairs to stick MarkI in a corner and start MarkII.
Funny how this works!

not bad, although firing something like a combustion neer my head is something i am not in to, put a handle on it and fire it like a chain gun cos it looks hell kool if you can pull it off. Good shot on ya first, mine was just a crappy inline like all the others, did you block off the grip:?:
Edit: damage pics?
