Just your run of the mill spudgun




Hiya fellas, hope you're all doing well. Just thought I'd drop in and share another commissioned piece I built this past week for a buddy of my brother. It really isn't anything special; I didn't even buff out the ink markings from the pipe! I hope you don't mind.

It has a ~13" long chamber (1' of clear 4", plus fitting room), and a 6' long barrel (1.5" clear, not shown because I was being hasty with the photographs). Onboard propane, simple LED chamber fan (BLING ), 3" cam lock assembly (bored out by lathe), and a quick vent 2" ball valve (also lathed and epoxied like a madman). Top it off with an old shoulder strap I had sitting around, and it's a pretty nice cannon for those hot summer nights up in the Tennessee hills.

So that's pretty much it for now. I have quite a few works in the pipeline, some of which I've finished but can't show you yet, unfortunately. I'll have something done in about 4 weeks, though, that should be totally okay for you to see. Here's a hint: airsoft + extreme FPS. I'm sure you can figure it out.

looks really nice. you seem to know alot more that I about combustions...let me ask you. I started on my advanced combustion...but I"m starting to think I made the chamber too big. I dont know it it will be dangerous or not. including fittings its about 3 and a half feet of 4" pipe. I havent seen an advanced combustion on here with a chamber that big and I wasnt sure if it was safe or not.

That's a nice gun! Presentation is top notch and it is all well done and very clean!

I'd have improved the sparkgap but this is excellent! 9.9/10.. Very nice (oh and taken the stickers off..)

Pretty cool. I like the semi-clear combustion chamber.

Safety isn't a concern, as long as the chamber isn't so long as to risk snapping upon firing (and that would take a 20' or so long chamber).

With a chamber that huge, you could easily use a 20 foot long 1.5" barrel to meet the efficiency ratios, but that's not necessary. Anything shorter than that will just be louder than it has to be.

Those are actually printed on the pipe (unless you mean the one on the regulator gauge), which is why I didn't take the time to buff it off (it would take too long, and the customer didn't care)

I think that's just the camera effect; the pipe is no less clear than any other clear PVC cannon (that's to say, it's just slightly blue tinted)

Love it! I'd say it is run of the mill components, but fashioned beautifully. Not much to say, but great work. Been a huge fan of your work, probably should send me a bandwidth bill seeing how many times I have gone to your site.

You don't give yourself enough credit. This cannon is clean and badass looking. Clear chamber and barrel + LED fan FTW.

Beautiful! Any idea if the customer will be around to show us a video of it being fired at night?

If you know Neospuds other work, this indeed seems like " just" another spudcannon.


Nevertheless, for the rest of us suckers...it's class A work!

ok good. I really didnt want to have to cut a chunk out of the middle and put a coupling or something. lol

Thanks for the compliments, fellas. I'll ask the customer to take some night shots with it. He said that eventually he'll want it painted, so at least I know that it'll come back to me for the finishing touches, at which point I can take a better photo set (including night photos).

I'll try to be around more often, too; I keep getting 3/4ths of the way through a project, then get distracted or delayed... I need to spend a week in the basement, finishing it all up. I need to update my site, too... jeez, I've got a lot of work to do!

Sorry Neo, this one totally slipped by me. Beautiful work as usual! Love the built-in stand and integrated handle/trigger...very sleek. Clear PVC is always a favorite....love the 3" camlock of course, lots of flexibility there. Shoulder strap...great feature.

Is the customer right or left handed? If right handed, I'm sensing some fuel meter valves toggling against some legs or hips.

Awesome combustion core there!!

Oh and...how are you supporting your propane tank and fuel meter? The only obvious spot I see would be at the inlet into the chamber.
