Hey guys!
Long time lurker, thaught I should say hello,
Got a bit too drunk last night, woke up this morning with a new cannon.
First test run this morning 380m with a small potato.
Chamber is an old C02 tank with a 50mm stainless barrel.
Time to bolt a measured gas feed onto it.

I've heard of posting under the influence but this is something else!

With those material specifications it's a shame not to go a little hybrid, even a low mix would be impressive.

nice yeah a co2 tank can take some significant pressure for a hybrid operation!

This weeks mission. A silencer. Dam thing is far too loud

I like it! It's big and metal. For low mix hybrid use, you can use a metal camlock coupling, but that requires cutting the barrel off and welding camlock fittings on to the barrel and chamber. I haver a similar sized cannon and even at 2X hybrid use it's a huge increase in performance.

How is the barrel attached to the tank? Basically if you can get a union between the two then fitting a burst disk should be easy, and there's your hybrid.

The barrel is tigged down to the chamber. But cutting this off for a burst disk and rewelding is no issue.

Will Definatly look into this.

MAPP and oxy tanks are super easy for me to get hold of.
So thinking two measured gas supplies mounted on the side would suit well.

Ignition will get changed to a motor bike setup shortly as the pizo sucks. Far too unreliable.

If you go with oxygen then you don't need to go hybrid. Going with a hybrid design using pure oxygen and propane with a large cannon like yours may well be a dangerous move. If the oxygen/propane fuel mixture is pressurized, it will be far greater than 5x pressures with a very rapid and violent combustion. Remote fire only IMO, but yes, very powerful.
I figured it's best for me to risk sounding like an overly cautious dork and just warn you rather than you not know and end up dead or something.

I like the idea of a remote ignition cannon.
Mounted at the end of my drive way. On a trip wire.
