Remember those days when all your guns consisted of was a few pieces of pipe a BBQ sparker and some flammable gas??Well I sure do and they were a load of fun.For that is what spudding is all about...FUN!!!
So I decided to go back to the old style combustion with nothing technical,no chamber fan no propane injection and no 500,000 volt ignition.
Here it is in all its glory i call her Green Faithful.Simple and effective not to mention very loud as the ratio is way outa wack and its meant to be that way for that authentic feel and sound of old style.
The whole gun is DWV and cot me about $6 as i had all the piping. The chamber is 100mm PVC and the barrel is 50mm PVC..Enjoy!

I remember when I built my first cannon, I was so impressed that it could shoot 100 yards across my backyard, and I had loads of fun with that thing. Sometimes it is great to remember the past.
Your backyard is 100yards!

Your still building a modern cannon, the true days of old is when you use 2 tennis ball cans, duct tape, zippo lighter fluid and a match. Any cannon made from pvc is modern.

Looks good. It's nice to step back, but I'd still add a chamber fan if I was doing it. Simply because you can get one from Wal-Mart for ~$1.70, and can even modify it to where it switches on and off from the outside for another 2 bucks.
I also would've gone with camera ignition, just because the BBQ sparkers are WAYYYY to expensive for what they are. Unless you've got one from an old grill, I wouldn't buy one.
Also, propane fueling can be done with a bernzomatic torch, a syringe, and a tire valve, so there's no advanced features there.
Basically, all I'm saying is that I can build a propane injected, chamber fanned, dually ignited spudgun for less than 20 bucks. Just gotta know how to do it.
But this is great! Do you use starter fluid? I either used that or propane from a torch head on my simple combustion before I drilled a hole in the endcap for a project stand, (chemistry).

that's the thing- you can't step back in time... there's always need to improve. Hey! I wish I could use propane! Wouldn't a fan be cool? OO... imagine a stun gun on this beast??
Then you pour out your wallet and the end product is a contraption from hell that's so complicated it's not even fun anymore.
You try for simplicity and then thirst for more.

Sut it out with the piss-ass attitude. That is all you have done. Rat on other people's guns.umm, good for you. i am sure you will have hours of fun adding propane injection, stun gun ignition, chamber fan and other upgrades to it. plus a bbq sparker is pretty hi-tech compared to a lantern sparker.
I remember thoes days! When I didn't know the differance between NSF-PW and NSF-DWV...
