Is there anyway I can make a spark using 9v batteries or something?
i got craploads of batteries at home..

Attach them to a stungun/other high voltage producing circuit.

Normal batteries tend not to make very good sparks.

....unless they're capable of putting out a TON of amps like a car battery in which case make something with very low resistance contacts and push them together manually.

Nine volt batteries can make sparks but only if you touched two wires together that were touching opposite plugs. Even then you only get a spark for the first second they touch. You could use the batteries if you controlled the flow of electricity, with a switch. That would create a spark most of the time when you turn the sitch on. It would also help to use more than one battery, all hooked together.

theres probably a way to wire a shit load of 9v batteries in series and get a spark. But i dont know much about electrical work.

To wire them all you have to do is connect a wire from one to the opposite one on another battery. Once your on you last battery you connect that wire to the opposite one on the first battery and you will get a spark. The spark shows that youmade a circuit.

well... there is this stuff called nickel chromium wire that you can use to light black powder fuses. from what i have gathered its high resistance and low voltages (9 - 12v) cause the wire to produce tremendous heat. ive been working on smelting some of the wire for the past few weeks but cant only get 2000 degrees when i need about 4000 looks like i need some sort of accelerant. i know its not sparks but it might work

I would use an ignition coil if you have a junkyard or any old cars around. A couple 9volts will power them for a while.
For producing heat through resistance I think graphite has a decent amount of resistance if you get it thin enough(mechanical pencil graphite might work). I dont have nickle chromium wire btw.
9 volt batteries can be connected to each other in series just by snapping the connectors together (for anyone who hasnt figured that out yet).

You don't even need the ingintion coil all you need is the batteries. Then all you have to do is get a switchand turn the power on and off. Sorry, I forgot that you could just snap the batteries together.

I can't help thinking hes after a spark that could reliably ignite a combustion mix... in which case the piddly spark straight from the battery is not good enough.

ok.. so roughly all i do is put like 3 in seriesand then use some resistance wire to ignite the mix right? and does anyone know hw to wire a capacitator?

What you've said probably won't work that great.

With regards to a capacitor, you'd need to go through a camera flash circuit most likely - which only needs 1.5V.

Using a single nine volt battery you can ignite black powder fuses with the tungsten filament from a light bulb. Just crack a light bulb open and take out the filament. Then touch the fuse to it and short the battery through the filament. it generates enough heat to make the tungsten glow red and ignite the fuse. This would also be able to ignite materials other than black powder fuses. for example, you could try putting dryer lint or paper or something on the filament to generate a flame.

Or, you could use the battery to ignite steel wool. If you touch the terminals of a 9v battery to steel wool it ignites. I'm not sure how well it would work, but perhaps this could be put to use in a cannon.

ok flamerz 14 just go to lowes or home depot and buy a grill ignitor for 10 bucks, there now your done. but if you must, research how to use a disposable camera for an ignitor(they wotk quite well).

I heard that you can use that crap in your toasters ( the wire stuff that heats up to cook your toast ) i think my mate told me a nine volt will heat it up around the 2000 degrees mark.

Just throwing it out there not 100% on it.
