I was thinking about using one of those, my only guess would be taking the grate thing out and created a spark gap with wires where the grate originally was. My mom wasn't too fond of the idea and wouldn't let me try it.

I used one of these on my shity hydrid.Just cut off the mesh thing and attached to small guage wires although the spark gap it can jump is relatively small.

It's nowhere near stungun voltages, swatters do a couple of kv (apparently) which can jump a few mm.

As long as it can jump it'll work though :)

These can work, as rna said just scrap the mesh stuff and you should be able to find to leads coming out of it. My friend attempted to use one to shock people, I can say the spark is weak but it would work.

hmm i have one of these and took it apart and the only way to make it spark is by touching the two wires together it wouldnt jump a gap to spark maybe you have a different one

Yeah they wont jump on their own but set a ground such as a washer or something parallel to the two wires and then it will spark.

The sparks can jump gaps easily. But the electrodes have to be very close together, suck as a correctly gaped spark plug which is what I used.

But there might be different types of zap fly swatters and they may have different power levels.

well in aussie they have theirs already ramped up to high voltages for those flies the size of kangaroos.

Those flyswatters sound like fun, hmm I'll pick one up and see if I can get a decent arc.

Well actualy, they are illegal here  .But I can get a hold of them. They'd have to supercharge the flyswats over here...Some of the flies are the size of one of your small toes and the little barstards bite.

P.S Aussies rule.
