Just bashing the analogy really, static loads aren't really suitable in this case, hence the large safety factors usually applied.

I know the fitting would be sleeved by another fitting (the fitting it threads in to) but I'm sure you've broken a few brass fittings from over-tightening them ever so slightly. It's not the same type of force that would be applied during combustion but I could see a rapid pressure spike deforming the malleable brass fitting where it may not be sleeved. I think I would be more surprised if an unsleeved brass fitting survived at 40x than if it failed.
Doesn't matter now that we know Petitlu's fittings are rated for 5000PSI.

Naturally dynamic loads change the game, I was just trying to put the forces involved into perspective

Yeah, It seemed like a great idea when you used it on Eulrick, but a simple threaded union is actually a bit more practical on a small canon like this.I will remove the quick connect to the Thorjack
When threading a cylindrical part on a lathe or milling machine, if the jaws aren't tightened down enough the part can slip in the jaws.I do not understand black spots ...
When PetitLu first added a burst disk to the ball valve pneumatic, he found that just opening the valve quickly would cause the disk to fail at a lower pressure. I wouldn't be surprised if burst disks actually fail prematurely on a hybrid shot.Oui lors des premiers essais sous 120bar

Well technically, the CAD files are actually older than Thorjackit has a look of Thorjack!
It will end up being very similar to Jack's 75SD, the original plan was just a smaller bore and not in a fixed barrel set up, but considering I don't have a workshop anymore or any useful tools of my own, it made more sense to start with a test setup and see how I got on.
It wasn't going to be a crazy high mix hybrid either, but then I realised that there was potential for matching basic 9mm loads in velocity and energy, which is all a bit too tempting...
