Well, tomorrow is the big day!
The beautiful JSR missile will explode the brake disc!
Everything is ready, the four cameras have their batteries charged block!
I doubled the thickness of my rupture disk, two disks cut from a "1664" steel so.
I even made a triple-layer disc! (sounds a bit PQ (toilet paper ...))
I know not yet how disk I will put to fire.
I look forward tomorrow morning, the preparation will be long I feel ....

bé ... I spent 3 hours in the fields of Grandpa!
The preparation was fairly long, just install, level, be careful that the missile arrives ... well at 90 ° positioning of cameras and four more with 35 ° c on the skull!
In addition I have been unlucky with the videos ....
Same with the projectile ...
Overall it's still not too bad!

Wow.
When I saw the aquarium shatter, my first thought was "yay, full penetration!" followed immediately after by "ah, pure energy transfer. boooo!"
Damn, it hit the radial support! Still, impressive penetration nonetheless
how many millimetres is that?
Also, that's a lot of brass splatter, not much left! Is it just me though or did the tail break off?

I had not seen but yes it is the tail that stands out!
There was no chance of hitting in the radial ....
Total penetration: 15mm - D6mm
impact on the second disc and a slight hump on the back of the disk, as we see on a picture, the disc is cracked!
I am sure that without the projectile passed through the radial!
It faudait also replace the tungsten carbide tungsten pure!
I said that for the first time I doubled the rupture disc!
EDIT : I made a mistake for the 1000fps video, I forgot that the rust dust mask the projectile ...
I'll take the second disc that had no rust on it .... sorry
I hope you're not too disappointed throughout this test!
I am quite satisfied, there are lessons to be drawn from all this!

Nothing disappointing about punching through well over 1/2" of steel plate!Petitlu wrote:I hope you're not too disappointed throughout this test!
Most firearms don't even come close to that kind of penetration

It's a shame about the fact it hit it at the thickest point, but I have a feeling you're going to try again with one of the delrin-finned carbide rounds
