how is the cloud bbmg made? what is a cloud versus vortex?

the cloud is basically...well a cloud of bb's, they're just dumped into the chamber, and the chamber is closed, then just press the trigger, and the air will agitate the bb's and they will follow the flow of the air out the barrel, go to the spudtech.com forums, and look for world's simplest bb machine gun there is a whole thing on it

what size pipe is the chamber made out of, and what do you use to connect the blowgun to the chamber. im buyin a new air compressor and i figured this would be a quick fun project to test it with.

Cloud BBMGs are so mechanicaly simple, you'll claim I'm leaving something out... anyway:
Air is blown up from the bottom of the container (through the blowgun, or other valve) and agitates the BBs. A member of this chaotic "cloud" of bbs occasionaly gets too near the barrel, and is sucked in.
The end.

cool!
so theres just a chamber with some bb's in it with air flowing through it?

that's it!! There is no pressure inside the chamber cuz the only pressure involved in this creation, is the one from the compressor, used to ighten the speed of the air going through the chamber, doing that, you create a venturi effect, air is accelerated when passin trhough the barrel, so, the air is constantly removed from the chamber, that's why you need a constant flow (a compressor will give it to you)
I've done the thing in a tennis ball, but as i have got a compressor, i can just pump and a few BB's are thrown , and not very quick though.
This week i'm buying compressor and making a cloud BBmg. I will post pics

However, if you don't like to glue parts for BBMGs like me, be sure to pound the parts together with a soft mallet + the floor. I have had the clean out adapter pop off and hit me when I took one to only 80 psi, then I decided to pound the peices together. Although I han't taken it up to 120 like I do with the airsoft one, I am betting it would hold up.

Why wouldn't you glue it?
For a quick and easy test to see how clouds work, just take a pill bottle and drill a hole in the end and stick a pen through it. Make sure it isn't in too far and then hot glue it. Drill another hole in the cap. Wrap the bottle in a few layers of duct tape.
To use it just fill it up with some airsoft bb's and blow air into the cap with your compressor blowgun. You'll be surprised how well they actually work. An average orange pill bottle holds around 300 bb's and they will all be shot out within about 2-3 seconds. It's amazing.

i have a few questions about bbmgs... do cloud guns have just aas much power as vortex guns? that is if you ran them at he same psi. is there any difference in fire rate between them? is accuracy the same?
