categories for bbmgs

I have not noticed any way of categorizing bbmgs. If two people have the exact same gun but different psi sources, you get different results. Does any one have any ideas like 0-50 psi. being light, 51-100 psi. medium, 101-150 psi. heavy? Or is there something in place already and I have not seen it because I'm blind?

Pressure is just one of the factors affecting BBMG power. You also have to consider valve, chamber size, barrel length and calibre - so pressure alone isn't going to suffice in creating different categories.

I am not exactly sure what you mean by categorizing BBMG's? Pretty much all BBMG's can use any pressure from 40 PSI to 150 PSI. If you are talking about distinguishing between different types of BBMG...
1) Obviously, there are cloud and vortex guns, each really different
2) There are inline vortex blocks and the other type (does it have a name?)
3) Size of the projectile; it could be 6mm, .177", or even a TB (OK, DR's TBMG wasn't a BBMG, but it worked on a similar principle).
4) Number of barrels; having two increases performance a lot, provided that you have a good enough air source.
5) Inlet valve (pretty self explanatory)
6) Method of BB feed (check out Mr. Plow's Ultimate Inline gun, and you will understand what I mean)

Yeah, since its a topic that doesnt really affect mainstream culture it doesnt really matter. But if you must just look to the firearms industry for answers. They have categories including (of course) caliber, then youve got ammo weight, velocity, powder charge, etc. So really you could make just about infinite categories for as many aspects of the gun. Kind of a ramble. Spud
