The barrel's hard brass and the pellet is soft lead, it would take hundreds of thousands of shots before any wear would be apparent.

I was going to try and make it for a BBMG but i realised that the same effect could be acheive much easier by having the BBs in the chamber and a ball valve between the chamber and the barrel

nothing wrong with that, good luck
On the other hand, I think it would be more interesting to apply this principle to a medium calibre launcher to give exceptional efficiency and performance, upgraded to say marble calibre...

In retrospect, I think a burst disc is a better idea as it gives you the opportunity to use any projectile you want even if it's not 100% airtight.Tom wrote:Wow Jack your idea's are coming, it looks very simple to make. What kind of program do you use to make the diagrams or do you draw it?
My diagrams are either drawn completely with MS paint or drawn with pen, scanned as line-art and coloured in with paint.

I have an idea for a bbmg.
Brown- chamber, barrel, and blocker
red- spring
green- trigger and sliding rod
purple- pivot point
black- rubber o-ring
yellow- bbs
blue- compressed air
Just get a bigger chamber more bbs and hook it up to an air compressor
Sorry, I am no artist.

That's pretty much a combination of my concept sketches, if you can achieve a good seal then it would work. In practice it's easier to just put a ball valve between the barrel and the chamber.

Sure, if you can handle the increased build complexity. I decided it wasn't worth the bother

i have acctualy thought about that a wile ago but i was thinking about a pistion thats hold back by a bolt then realest and goes in a bigger part of the barrel stops in a bolt that is in the middle of the bigger part then the air goes past it. it is pretty hard to explain

... and your linguistic skills clearly offer no assistance to the proceedings

Increased complexity adds many a challenge, are you up for it my friend?
