You have a good point, if it had to be built as an auto it would probably fire in bursts as opposed to single shots.

Hey jack I got this new idea going. It combines ur valveless design with my slidevalve idea. The bb's are pushed past the valve which in your case stops the bb's from flying out and presses in that valve for a burst of air. here is the link:)jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:This is an idea I had a while back.

The 3/4" chamber was for a high pressure test single shot launcher, while the BBMG was just a concept that I never built.

IDK... I'd have to test that but I 6mm bbs are the smallest ammo that I have and I don't think I have any 8X6 fittings ATMwould they be adaptable to the valveless concept as a trigger?
they are useful for all sorts of things... I use them also as an air hose because they are a lot lighter than hydraulic hoses

Ok, lol (lol!) but even assuming you're using sabots, how would you fit it into the design? I'm having a hard time imaginining it lol.

you could try to use the male fitting as the sabot, I don't no how you could incorporate that efficiently into a launcher.

Pretty is as pretty does despite the fact that that design is pretty awk. If I had some of these fittings I may try it out, but I don't think it is worth ordering some, but then again, I've never understood your love of small caliber or, as I see it, overcomplicated innovation

I don't think this particular "detent triggered" design is ideal for full auto, unless you are cycling it externally as I had proposed here.
For full auto, the ideal would be to have a sealed breech that will only release the projectile at a given pressure and reset instantly - something like this with an airtight seal - and the cycle would be as follows:
1 - Air feed valve to projectile chamber opened
2 - Projectile moves to breech and is held by seal
3 - Pressure builds up in the chamber until the projectile is released
The next projectile then moves to the breech and the cycle is repeated until the air feed is closed or projectiles run out.
The only way I see the "detent triggered" design work as semi or full auto is using cartridges, maybe looking like this. The issue is that they're a bit complex to produce in bulk without machining facilities.

well maybe it isn't the best idea but some of their products are just great... if you try those push-to-connect fittings & tubing you won't be using anything else
