My original pen gun was built in a hurry for a spudfiles contest and wasn't very refined, I figured three years on it was time I made one that could actually pass for a pen
Since the focus is on aesthetics, dimensions are rather limited - for example the 3mm barrel is only 70mm long - but the 8mm I/D chamber tube gives a high C:B ratio. Internally it's similar to my pengun v2 with a solid rubber piston cut with a sharpened tube from 1/4" sheet. I also added a small neodymium magnet to the breech in order to stop projectiles from rolling out.
Performance isn't spectacular but nothing to scoff at either, here it is in action at 400 psi against a energy drink can full of water, using a 3mm steel BB - punched straight through.

All that's left is to add a rod to the cap so it can be used as a trigger, meaning once it's loaded and pumped it can be carried alone and used without ancillary items. I would also like to find a suitable cap to disguise the schrader, maybe a turned down tyre dust cap.
edit: added the cap as a firing mechanism

Nice, you need a front to disguise the barrel, but good performance.

Once they can see the barrel it's already too late ;P

Dear lord jack, you just love 1up'ing people I need to find a nice brass colored cap for my pengun. I do believe I have started the shiny pengun fad. Great work as always, hope to see another slowmo vid soon.

Lol I know that's what it looks like, but actually this has been in the pipeline for a few weeks now, I was just waiting for the pen I ordered to arrive so I could cannibalise it for parts

Looks great, whats the piston, and is it servicable, im hesitant to make a non servicable mini after the fail of my last piston.

That sort of piston should last the life of the launcher as long as it's well supported.

I see how it is, the whole "I thought of this before you routine" Kidding of course, what pen was it that was used for this build, the cap would look perfect spray painted gold colored and put on my pengun.

Originally I wanted to fit the coax in the pen body, but I was a little too heavy handed while hacking it up
Maybe I should find a clicky-top, incorporated trigger...

In the second picture is that solid epoxy you used to hold the barrel in the center

That's silicone tubing, it keeps the cap in place.
