is there an internet/downloadable calc for finding the approximate distance a gun can shoot? or a formula that can calculate distance from weight of ammo, angle, fps? or just some really smart guy reading this?
in any event, im shooting a 100g potato about 500 fps, or a 80g potato about 300 fps
EDIT: im guesing 45* would be optimal, but if its not, whatever the optimal shooting angle is
distance calc?
Grock, lets see here give me 10 min or so
EDIT: i need an angle measurement
hangtime- 100gram ~ 31.06 seconds
- 80 gram~ 18.34 seconds
- assuming perfect straight up and down shot ignoring air resistance

Note epoxy cure time very important barrels are hard to remove from the wall
well, im not sure if im suing the same application as you guys, but mine dosnt have a distance thing excapt on the x axis, and when i do that, ive got something weird on the y axis, like acceleration
edit: found "projectile pos" (assuming that means position) but it seemd to stop at 62 inches, which seemed wrong

You are not looking in the right spot. Go to the Tools menu, then External Ballistics Calculator. The graph you are looking at is used to plot variables whilst the projectile is in the barrel. Have a look at the GGDT website you will learn how to use it properly then.grock wrote:well, im not sure if im suing the same application as you guys, but mine dosnt have a distance thing excapt on the x axis, and when i do that, ive got something weird on the y axis, like acceleration

Cheers
This is a very accurate calculator with a bunch of other functions too, which I've found to be very useful. It was created by ragnarok so all credit to him, hope you don't mind me posting this rag?

There was one made for the TI-83 series calculators by RCman, which I modified and made a bit more eye-friendly, plus MirageOS compatible. It's very nice.

well well. I see someone has found my program. Could you possibly post the updated version on SF? Here is the link to the page.
