A few weeks ago...
QEV gun, 30 bar, 16mm marble in the barrel.
Shot into some particle boards bolted together, marble bounced back with quite some velocity and bounced off my cheek.

I GAVE MYSELF A HEADSHOT!

It didn't do real damage, but left a red mark, and a raised heartbeat...
If it would've hit straight on instead of bouncing off, it would've hit harder then a paintball in the face (without a mask). A few inches from my eye...
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

I was working with a coilgun, and was setting up the SCR's. The bank energy was about 1.2kJ. When i charged, the SCR refused to trigger. The gate wire wasn't connected. I "carefully" snaked out the wire, but accedentily hit the positive of the bank. The bank discharged throught the SCR, and i was less than 6 inches away. I couldn't hear straight for a week ;(.

using my 1000fps pellet cannon, its pneumatic obviously but not posted on this site, i made the rookie mistake of resting my head against the scope to see through it better, the recoil gave me a black eye :

I had bought parts for a water balloon launcher, but when I got home I realized that for some reason one of the thread adapters was too small, even though it said it was the right size. After the cannon was glued and had dried I decided to test it, it leaked like crazy! and then, by accident I bumped it on somesthing and the chamer came completely off, luckily it only had about 20 psi in it at the time. so later I tried to re-glue it-it should work right? WRONG. I filled it to 120psi( it was laying on the groud luckily) and the whole 3" chamber shot 8 feet across the yard, the sound deafend me and I couldn't he for a while, and I got a huge puff of compressed air right in the face! if a joint comes loose on a cannon that you have already glued, don't glue it again!

This was early winter last year: My dad had never seen my combustion cannon fire, so I go down my alley to where a levee is about 1/2 city block away. (I would have this on video, but my dad didn't know how to properly use my camera) I load it up and everything, hit the ignitor, and nothing happened. I was a little confused, so I kept hitting the ignitor while looking at my cannon. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was aiming further and further up. It finally fired at about a 40* angle, which was WAYYYY too high to hit the levee. The apple (I had ran out of potatoes) went clear over every 60+ year old tree in sight and ended up in the next town  (the river on the other side of the levee is the town line). Luckily, as far as I know, nobody was hurt and no property was damaged.

one time i was shooting my potato cannon and it wouldent light. so i just blew into the chamber to get rid of the fumes and i left the potato inside of it. that night i was putting it away and i pointed it into the corner and pressed the trigger. yeah you all know what happend....

another time i was shooting a pneumatic cannon made from a 2 leter pop bottle and i was charging it with my air compresser and it blew up on me leaving a huge football sized welt and making my ears ring for around a week.

that's why I am always trying to be careful while shooting marbles... they are bouncy balls when compared with anything else

Today I was working on my new bazooka, i was using PVC cement to glue on a cap. the cap i was using was clear, because i got reaaly pissed and got rid of the last one when i tried to check for a spark and burned my face :( . the glue had not yet dried, but i wanted to make sure i could see the spark through the foggy endcap. I hadn't shot this cannon in a week, so I saw no problem. The endcap blew off along with a shower of flaming PVC cement. lucky for me, i blinked  the flaming goo plastered my eye shut. I would have been in huge trouble if it wasn't for my pool. I jumped in clothes on, and phone in pocket :x it got soaked, but im ok besides the purple residue left in my eye lashes. I left my phone in rice to dry over night, i hope it works in the morning. My devotion to the art of spuddgunning forced me to keep working on the cannon. it is now finished, and i shall call her "Hell Raiser 13" the endcap is now secure, and she is firing great. luckily, my dad didn't see, so i shall live to spud another day hoorah!

P.S.
Its really embarrasing to walk around in public with purple eyelashes and eyebrows

today was my birthday! :o

If you left the battery in the phone, it's most likely toast. Voltage, printed circuits, electrolysis, corrosion. IF a phone gets wet, remove the battery right away, take it apart, dry the pieces.. let it dry a day or two under a fan.. Then reassemble and test. Leaving it assembled with the battery in it most likely killed it. :(

It works, i removed the battery right when i got out, and took it apart as well as i could. It wouldn't have been a total disaster if it didn't work, i got a newwer better phone for my b-day :P

More a "spudding" accident, but I was taking apart a 5 gallon spring water dispenser, and the hot water tank, element, thermostat was all linked to the cold water...took all the wiring apart, wired it together, plugged it in to check compressor,
and BLAM...electric blew. (whole floor+).
Luckily, the lady's house I was at she had an electric lawn mower so I blamed it on that :P ...then repaired the fuse box later (luckily) ...

Anyway, now I can't get the compressor to work, I'll Read through POLAND_SPUD's How-To soon, try to see.
BTW, the compressor is bigger than the mini-fridge I have. 8)

Had another spud crazy related accident last year, but for that type of thing..."what's in the past...can stay in the past!!!"
I got some motorcycle accident pics that would be too gruesome to post too. All better now...Like new. :) 8)
