Spud Files is so big that the search function is almost scary. I read for hours and end up far away from what I was originally looking for. It's hard to keep focused with all the cool stuff here. So I was hoping you guys would give me some links or short cuts to some builds or info that could help me.

I'm thinking about building something similar to what I've recently posted (http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/xm2-t18846.html) except, instead of hand pump, I want to use a co2 canister and 800 or 850 psi. what do you think? Can you help me out?

Thanks

Srry for being a smrt@ss but you can do it best yourself IMO.
(Just pipe in CO2 where the pump normally fills) 8)

BTW, awesome gun you made before (xm2) 8)

Don't be so harsh on him. Look, so do you want it onboard or from a filling station? And you will need pressure pipe, C02 (duh) and a regulator, to control flow. I seem to remember C02 having this funny connection so you will need to find an adaptor.

i am a cyclist and i know that they sell a little device in bike shops that when you pop a tire on the road instead of carrying around a pump you just tank your CO2 and this little adaptor you then hit the button it pops the CO2 thingy and releases all of the CO2 into the tire filling it up. it may work for you here. but only if you are using the little 12 gram containers.

My plan is to put a co2 can on my back and run a remote (as they call it in the paintball world) to the launcher.

My concerns are the valves. The qev on the xm2 is rated at 300 psi and the blowgun trigger is only rated at 150 psi. I understand from my search that they can handle more than they are rated for, but 800 psi. I doubt it.

So I'm trying to figure out what valves can use such high pressures and how to build them or where to buy them.

The first option that comes to my mind is to add a regulator. Check out a Palmer's Stabilizer. It is going to be your best bet for CO2.

Just add the regulator between your remote and valve and set the pressure to how you want it.

Blow nozzles like that have been used for higher pressure pilots,
800 psi(+), IDK (either)...I've been thinking of a 12, 16 gram tyre filler top for similar pilot.
I have an "Ultraflate Plus" model.
It takes 16 gram, but 12 gram work fine and when I use 8 gram, I simply drop a bunch of coins in the handle...
It will inflate presta valves too , and uses threaded co2 cart.s or non threaded.

So for use as a pilot I was thinking of chopping the neck of a threaded type co2cart., epoxying it into a reducer bushing and threading it into the tyre inflator....(definately safe for use @800+)...

For more flow (not sure the application still) but a pressure washer valve could be used....
A "dummy co2 cartridge" should be usefull too.
Palmer's sells them (among others) it's an aluminum piece, same shape basically as a 12 gram only the side is threaded and a co2 paintball type hose can be installed.
It could be connected to N2O for automotive or even hybrid fueling use. 8)

If you are using a piston qv and a blow gun you should be able to use itup to about 400 psi, and mabey a little more.
