Yeah, like appending the title "If you love God, watch this" to a video that is clearly of slow motion. No deities involved at all.far_cry wrote:i notice that a lot people here leave the subject and start typing unrelated things

That said, it is a neat video. I dug up a whole load of this stuff a while back as part of the development of my piercing dart ammunition. It does help being able to see how these impacts actually happen.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

On film 4 million fps has been possible since the 1960s or 1970s (not sure which but it's been around a loooong time). Seriously.spud downunder wrote: that was the single most amazing video i have ever seen, wow is that actully real, i didnt know u culd get 1 million fps.
In the digital age? It's possible now, but it wasn't 5 years ago.

I would sure like to have a HS camera. Getting a few more videos of some of my impacts would be nice.
This video is nice. Too bad they used such a slow launch speed. Warning Sony advert.

Great stuff, it's a fascination with kinetic energy that keeps me in this hobby

I caught this a couple of weeks ago from someone's blog post. The elegant "flowering" effects in some of those shots belies the brutish energies at work there.
Is that just from the energy, or bullet design? Used to read NRA magazines, and recall something of that nature being designed. Long time though, and honestly pretty shameful my comprehension of firearms... Dad was into them, but after we emptied 200 or so bullets for his 25-06 to make "boomies" he just sold it.starman wrote:The elegant "flowering" effects in some of those shots belies the brutish energies at work there.
Ricochet would be an interesting thing to see.
Talk about teasing perception with uber-expensive equipment to see something so digestive. *framing shot of clear combustion chamber* damn!

- When shooting near the edge of the plate you will see this plume of metallic powder. What is going on there?

Wow that's a nice find!
Beautiful video!
It's amazing how soft and pliable stuff can look.

I think one of the more interesting things is how you can see things like the bullet jackets pulling apart down the rifling marks.psycix wrote:It's amazing how soft and pliable stuff can look.
