I was given some 6" pvc pipe today and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a combustion cannon built with this would outperform a 4" cannon enough to make it worth building it. I have experimented with longer pieces of 4" in the past and it seems that a 12to 16" combustion tank will outperform a 24" easily. So bigger is not always better, however a 4" seems to outperform a 3" combustion by a good margin, If anyone has built a 6" after having 3 and 4" models ,I would appreciate knowing if it was any better or worse.

the thing though is that the larger the chamber, the longer the barrel must be. I came across a 6" diameter 63 inch long peice of steel pipe, and after doing the math i learned that the barrel would have to be about 40 foot long of 2" diameter pipe for the cannon to work correctly. It really depend on how long the piece of pipe is. but if you do put on the correctly sized barrel, then yes it will outperform the 4" and 3" diam cannons.

Well, a larger combustion chamber will almost always outperform a smaller one, provide its chamber to barrel ratio is correct.

How long is this piece of 6" PVC? Here are the barrel lengths you would need for optimum performance:

6"x12" Combustion Chamber
(1) 3"x60" barrel
(2) 4"x34" barrel
(3) 6"x15" barrel
6"x18" Combustion Chamber
(1) 3"x90" barrel
(2) 4"x51" barrel
(3) 6"x23" barrel
6"x24" Combustion Chamber
(1) 3"x120" barrel
(2) 4"x68" barrel
(3) 6"x30" barrel

Someone correct me if I miscalculated

if you boost up the caliber, from a 2" to a 3" barrel whats not worth building, you got a 3" barrel, thats gotta be fun, just make to right C:B
