This is a guide to making an inline vortex block. My mini SMG should be done within 2 weeks, now that I have a compressor to use it. I was going to make the block today and thought I might as well show you guys how.
It should only take 20 minutes to half an hour to make one.
Tools required:
Drill and Bits
Vice
Hacksaw
Parts required:
Thin walled metal pipe, 1/8" sheet PVC, or something else very strong, flat, and thin.
1/2" to 7/8" sheet PVC, acrylic, ABS, hardwood, etc.

Inline Vortex Blocks

- Drill a 3/4" hole in a piece of 1/2" to 7/8" thick acrylic or PVC sheet. You can also use ABS sheet or something else strong. Acrylic smells sickly-sweet when you cut or drill it, it's disgusting. Just a warning.

- Draw a guideline about 1/4 of the way from the bottom of the vortex hole. USE A RULER. This is a really small block, you can make it bigger if you want to.

- Keep the part with the larger section of the vortex hole. Smooth out the edges and clean the shreds off.

- Draw a guideline perpendicular to the back of the block and right at the top of the vortex hole for the barrel.

- This is the block with a 5/16" hole drilled through it for the barrel. You can faintly see the guideline.

- The finished block. Use epoxy or superglue to secure the shrouds. Hot glue will cause the shrouds to fall off eventually.

Am I the only one here who has the motivation to actually make a vortex gun? The only vortex BBMG I've seen that is actually a new topic are Mr. Plow's Ultimate Inline. Everyone likes clouds so much more for some reason.

I have all the parts for my SMG except for the male quick connect and the brass fittings that go from the blowgun to the vortex.. Both handles are done, one with a notch for a blowgun. The main body is 1" SDR 21 sleeved inside 1 1/4" Sch 40. The barrel is 9/32" aluminum sleeved inside 5/16" aluminum. You can also slide 1/4" brass into the airsoft barrel and it becomes a .177 caliber BB barrel. I just need to put it together, make it look all pretty using Bondo, then paint it flat black.
vortexes generaly use less air to put out the same amount of bbs as a cloud. that is the only main difference.
EDIT: i was actually thinking of making a vortex block but i thought that you used a full circle like the one that the wiki links to not a half one like you are showing is there a difference in performance

In "regular" blocks with full circles, the BBs can circle around multiple times, therefore wasting air and lowering the ROF. They also have to travel further with a full circle, so this uses even more extra energy.
You use a screw or two, if you want it to be detachable (you do!) for maintenance. You can use epoxy if you want, but there's no repairing/replacing if it gets worn down or shatters, or something bad happens in general.
