so it fills through both ports ? it wants to fill from chamber, so modded QEV? That's why I filled mine through the trigger, no need to touch the QEV 8)

Jack the mock has nothing to do with the Ninja tank, that mock up is just a mock up.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Looking at your mockup, why is the chamber connected to both the slide valve and the QEV? Shouldn't you have a separate firing chamber?
The Ninja tank is for my first cannon.
I have the tank and pump..i cant fill the tank..is it because i dont have the right regulator yet?
I thought i could just add the tank and fill it and BOOOM?
No fill and no boom.
is it to do with the spring inside the regulator, i removed that along with the ball valve.
I can fill the tank i did up before the ninja tank arrived, that fills the cannon no problems, ninja tank wont let me fill...
@Jack-The small cannon is the one with the modded qev..well i cant say modded because it doesnt work yet.
That is supposed to only have one chamber. But it has taken much longer to get it built..or rather get the QEV sorted, its becoming time consuming so i might make it 2 chambers, but that leaves me with only the 1 QEV instead of 2.
Happy to admit defeat for if i can't do it..then i can't do it and no hard feelings.

I think i simply have to wait for the regulator..but i still see no reason as to why the tank doesn't fill if i removed the valve/spring, etc? Basically removed everything so its just a bottle and still doesnt fill.

Could you simply not be aware of how many strokes it will take to fill the thing? Don't expect the pressure gauge needle to move much even after 50 strokes... taking a 48 cubic inch tank to 3000 psi is going to take more than 750 strokes.I think i simply have to wait for the regulator..but i still see no reason as to why the tank doesn't fill if i removed the valve/spring, etc? Basically removed everything so its just a bottle and still doesnt fill.
Also, silly question, but one has to ask - is the bleed valve on the pump (brass knob opposite the gauge) well closed?

No hurry, BFG #7 took me a year to complete.
Is the ball/spring a non return valve ? could the air be coming straight back out again into the pump ? or does the pump have a built in non return.
Maybe you need one of these https://www.ebay.ca/itm/4500psi-pcp-air ... SwYbhZ2GuM
In fact I need one of those oooh, water cooled

@Jack...amigo im so new to this hence my many questions..and no i had no idea it would take so many pumps to fill to 3000psijackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Could you simply not be aware of how many strokes it will take to fill the thing? Yep its a non-return, you could fill it by itself and then just throw it on to a paint ball marker when you had to.farcticox1 wrote:No hurry, BFG #7 took me a year to complete.

I removed the shims, basically everything is gone, just leaving me with the bottle which in essence is all i want.
Oh no i wont be getting a compressor for awhile, budget is blown for now.

Found out the problem thanks for the help guys.
I simply had a leak, the attachment i have just doesn't give an air tight seal against the ninja outlet, really noticed it when i gave it more pressure.
But good times ahead, looking forward to filling this up once i have the right attachment.
@F1-Oh btw those compressors do look good and will be great for the home, will have to extend the budget and order one.

A couple of simple questions ... 8)
1- Does anyone know how to lubricate the pistons of the syringes?
I am using them to test some concepts and I can not find out what to use that does not make them useless after a week or less.
2- Which ball check valve that has a small size can be obtained? It has to be robust but small. The ones I'm using, I've made them myself, but I need several and I do not know which ones to use or where to buy.

You can do it!! Try it to death and learn from mistakes. Nice project to start with these things, and you have great enthusiasm, that is pure energy.Air2theBrain wrote:Jack the mock has nothing to do with the Ninja tank, that mock up is just a mock up.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Looking at your mockup, why is the chamber connected to both the slide valve and the QEV? Could this type of valve serve to block the return of gases from a hybrid?
