well its enough to spark the gun to ignite... you dont need a 3" gap to jump ittle ignite it the same ithor way..

and yes you can modify it to jump gaps because i have also.

What did you do to make yours into a "taser?"

Where did that second page come from?
The distance between the 2 Ls is all you need, you can see the spark really brightly anyway. It's still enough to ignite something.

Yeah I know you can modify it to make it jump a gap but he said his just jumps a gap by itself. Maybe you think they are 1mm apart but they are really touching.

Wait, you need to break the bulb and attach it to those leads? I had my wires hooked up the the little copper tape-ish wires that led to the bulb. Man I threw that bulb away too. Is there anything I can do with the capacitator? If not, that's a few bucks down the drain. (My local place wouldn't give me empty shells from used ones)

You can attach the wires to the camera wires leading to the bulb. It's a little easier.
And MisterSteve, I can see, ok?
I can also get a gap up to 2-3 mm that still works also. I can take a picture of my friends finger with a brownish-gray burn mark on it if you want. The spark melted off part of the skin and muscle on the end of his finger.

Yeah I was playing around with that and it didn't seem to work. I don't think the flash was charging...
Does any old AA battery work?

I'll take a couple pictures of mine sometime. How good is the capacitor on your camera taser?
Flying Salt, hold down the button for the flash for over 20 seconds, any new AA battery should work fine.

You can't get a spark to jump at 330v, it takes I believe 100,000v
When you touch teh wires, the spark is created from the large amout of electricty passing through the small gap.

They can but its a lot less than 1mm.

They can do about 3mm if you use the third wire going to the bulb area to ionise the air between the two main wires.

frankrede, a BBQ igniter is capable of making a spark jump a gap, but it's a maximum of 8,000 volts usually.

well it doesn't really matter how many volts because amps hurt not volts. I made one that uses 2 capacitors and im testing it on my friends tonight. I'll post pictures later.
