My Idea : a Battle-bot that shoots Golf Balls
The Idea I had was to make Remote control Tank Style Robot .
It would shoot Golf Balls using a Motorised Turret
It would be Forced Air base with it own area that holds 20 Golf Balls
once the Canon fires the Ball
A new one would be Released into cannon's Lunch Area.
The air Tank Fills with up use Of Mini Air Compressor.
Once they system Reaches 75-100 PSI the Compressor would stop.
Then your Ready to stock your next Target.
Once ball is fired again the system Reloads.
I seen this done on Youtube with Paint ball Gun.

ya it dose
My question how to do the Golf Ball loader
so it will launch 1 Golf ball at time.
I am going to use two Wheel Chair Motors one on each side to drive Tank Part.. Pull Forward on Remote on 1 Stick and Back on other the Tank till Turn
The Turret and Gun will be run my 2nd Remote Control
Then Tank should be be able to reach speeds of 10 15 Mile an hour.

I have a wheel chair that im trying to make into a robot.
1st- you wont get 10-15 mph(with batteries and hardware the weight will slow it down if you use the air compressor thats more batteries each battery is 20-25lbs it would be faster and lighter with a regulated co2 tank)
2nd- you would have to have a pretty powerful servo to cock the gun(about $175-$250) it would be more cost efective to make is gravity fed

I think it would be really funny if someone built one of these things, only covered so you can't see what it is.
And if they sent in a robot to get rid of it, It could shoot the robot!!!

Do you expect to enter this into some kind of competitions?Because this wouldn't be allowed in nearly any competition of battle bots junior/beginner any faction of the hobby due to the projectiles being launched.Your Idea of having the compressor onboard is not feasible really, they take up quite a bit of space and weigh alot, which is important if you want this to move quickly.Although the golfball gun idea does sound good ti would be very infective in a battle unless it were to be doing near 1000 fps. Some of these bots have armour which can with stand blows from weapons which deliver 1000kg/cm2.
Sorry to be showering on your parade, but if you plan to use this in Bot dueling I can't see it working very well.

As for the compressor mounting on a robot issue:
I'm on my school's robotics team (not Legoes, not Vex kits, the real aluminum framed, hand wired and coded thing - max weigiht is 120 lbs!), and among the kit of parts we got was a small, 90 PSI compressor. Its roughly the size of a toaster, and weighs I'm guessing 12 lbs. If you're really going to do something like this, seriously, get you're hands on one of those. Just hook it up to the battery (which will be large enough, right?) with some pressure switches and you're good to go.
But if you cant find something like that, my personal suggestion would be to go with CO2. A paintball tank would be a lot more conveniet, and easier to implement too. And what would be even more badass: make the entire thing run off of a CO2 tank (cylinders, rotary actuators, etc) and completely forego the battery. Of course that'd be entirely impractical, but I'd still make it just for the bragging rights.

Proud to be the only kid on my robotics team with pneumatics experience.

I think it would be really cool to build a walking robot similar to this:

Then it could kick over other bots and stomp on them
Or if it was gas powered like Zippster's idea but used steam like the guy's spider chair in "wild wild west" movie.
BTW this "Mondo spider" has more videos of it and is one of my favorite videos on youtube for some reason. 8)

One, actually a few, problems. 1. Rules.

2. Are you sure the golf ball will puncture 3/8" or 1/2" titanium plates? What weight class?
3. Not really a problem, but a consideration. It IS within the rules to have a projectile weapon. However, it must have restraining cords that can stop the projectile even when it misses. Which is why there has only been one that I know of that used projectiles. Sorry, I can't remember the name.

yeah what kinda battle bot is that if it shot golf balls
may be a piston valve powered stabbing thing

O.K,
First off, do you even have any robotics experience? this sort of thing could end up being a BIG Money waster if you dont know what you are doing. Secondly, Ammosmoke is right, you better not be hoping to enter this in any competitions, because even if it is legal, it wont do Diddly-Squat. But if you have already considered all this, the bot could be pretty cool. I would love to see a servo based bolt mechanism.
