The video works but can't be embedded.
Just click the link.
Using tape and then repainting it a few times is the usual trick with painting camo.
This vid explains it quite nicely.

I'd note that he's missed one of the other usual tricks.psycix wrote:Using tape and then repainting it a few times is the usual trick with painting camo.
That trick would be the one where you disassemble it so you're not risking paint in the innards where you don't want it.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
I like to wrap my guns in camo duct tape ratherthan paint them, it gives is a softer feel, so it isnt damaged by getting hit by something, and duct tape doesnt chip like paint, however the down side is that it's expensive ($5-$6 a roll)

I use leaves to make my camo, I paint the gun green first. Then with leaf stencils i use different shades of green brown and black to make it look like a pile of leaves. Nice and simple. I did it to the "Sarge".

1. i had the same idea rcman had and if you guys are interested in what that looks like i did it to my r700:

I base coated green with camo ultra flat crylon, then stenciled with oak and evergreen leaves/branches with brown and kacki, no black, because it has been shown that black is actually not a good color to camo with as it does not appear very often in nature, that and the fact that when i went to walmart, i only had enough $ for 3 cans

also, for those of you interested in camo tape, i would not suggest duct tape on anything other than a potato cannon as if left on for a while it leaves a lot of residue, there are 2 other options, there is camo gun tape which comes off clean (very nice feature) and even better, theres this stuff called "camo form wrap" and its a lot like a camo ace bandage, but even more strechy so you can actually put it on say a bolt handle and it will still let you pull it back (although i dont suggest this, just wrap around the moving parts)

i almost forgot to metion that that job only took about 10-15 minutes and most of it was letting the base coat dry, so its very easy and quick to do
