Mythbusters experimenting with spudguns
I tuned in to the Mythbusters on Discovery Channel this evening and found them shooting some basic spray and pray spudders. Their premise was that a duct taped only PVC cannon would shoot as well (without disintegrating) as a properly cemented one would. Of course it did with ease. I think most of us would have predicted that without having to think about it much.
It was kind of dumb but the whole show was dedicated to power and wonders and "myths" of duct tape. Some of their other duct tape experiments were actually much more interesting.

I just watched that one
, your right it was a fairly basic test for the spud gun, but the solid ducttape cannon inspired me to try something similar, so I can take the ghetto award from whoever has it now haha.

Patience is a virtue, get it if you can, seldom in a women, never in a man.

Because of course a spray-and-pray is a highly accurate scientific testbed, and potatoes are specifically honed ammunition for this exact purpose.premise was that a duct taped only PVC cannon would shoot as well (without disintegrating) as a properly cemented one would.

I don't think it sends out the right message. Especially now that people will think duct tape can hold anything together...I don't even feel safe with DWV combustions with cleanout caps which are glued together properly, let alone duct taped.
Well pretty much, they actually did but not the support system and it did work fairly well. And i love how they must put a secret "spray" into the barrel to make it shoot. I just find that funny. Its like they spray magic in there and it works! lolVH_man wrote:im sure if they had metered propane the thing would have blown to bits. it was pretty cool though.
