From what I understand I would want the fan at the rear of my chamber then have the igniter somewhere in front of it, maybe right in the middle of the chamber?
Does it matter?
Chamber fan placement to ignition... ?

Yes, it matters.
Think about it this way... When the gases light, all that gas is going to go rushing forward at very high speed. If the fan is in the front, all those gases have to blow through the plane of the fan. This destroys fans. By contrast, if the fan is at the back, then only a very small percentage of the gases have to blow through the fan (since the vast majority of the gases start out in front of the fan to begin with). Thus, the fan lives a lot longer.
