i think that if you melt alot of hot glue into the shape of a projectile that is desirable an example is by cooling hot glue in a form while an object is in the center like nails,bbs,bearings,razors, smaller bullet, glass, exetera...
(please follow the no pyro rule)
i think that if this is done you can acive higher powers with smaller obgects basicaly a specitaly round for in a cartige fire canon
please post back fillings and outer round ideas

sorry for some confusion i mean a shot in which the hot glue is the bullet and ther is a centered obgect like the glue breaks off in impact to a stronger surface and then the strong center continues through
i mean an example of glue hits glass then nail contunues thuogh while hot glue rmains behind after weakening blow.

You wanted to make a sabot using hot glue, in the videos we used wax witch is cheaper and doesn't stick to the mold.

Bro, there's two types of sabot, discarding (what you're thinking of), and non-discarding.

First a question.

Is the hot-glue to act as a seal/burst disc substitute for a cartridge? aka, you have your propellant and projectile in one, like traditional firearm ammunition.

On other reasons why you might do this.

From my intuition, the bonus of having it non-discarding would be to add momentum to the projectile, meaning it hits the target harder.
However, hot glue is light.
The momentum gain is most likely less than the decrease that is created by its increased drag.

Another bonus, (if the core was of an unstable design), would be to add stability to the penetrator by imparting spin from barrel rifling (if material properties are suitable). I would assume your barrel is smooth, so this would reason would be nullified also.

So I guess its do-able, but most likely wont improve the power. A discarding sabot pared with a balanced projectile (APSD/APFSDS) will achieve best results

i am planing using this for a like 1/2 inch rifles copper barrel and im not sure if lead vs copper is a good idea and a little wasefuland im not sure if tape would work as well and wax is super feeble i want it kinda like a regular bullet im laning on using a heavy core like steel or lead (probably a 270 bullet)

So you are saying the blue is the discarding sabot and the black is the projectile?

If the black is the projectile it is not flight stable!
You need to research CG vs CP for flight stability.

JSR has numerous pictures available for fin/drag stabilized projectiles.

So how do you plan for flight stability?
It has to be done with barrel rifling or drag/fin stabilization!
