Yours truly and a few other members, sadly this forum isn't nearly as active as it used to be.

Ok. Yeah, it’s a shame about so many people leaving.

You can probably buy Airsoft and Pellet guns cheaper than it costs to build now as well, I just build stuff cause I want to build stuff, luckily I obtain/scavenge my parts for next to nothing. Like this one probably has at least $300 worth of parts in it, it cost me nothing except the scope. The barrel material alone is $175/meter, I managed to 'acquire' it.

For many the real world (family, work etc.) tends to get in the way, that is an inevitable consequence of time. What has changed however is that there does not seem to be the influx of adolescents to replace them. It appears younger generations are increasingly distracted by less hands-on pastimes, which is a shame.

Most teens I know are obsessed with sports or instagram. Although, they do get excited when I fire combustion spud guns. They just don’t seem to want to BUILD one.

I've also noticed this among my peers, it seems like people nowadays are more willing to watch things than to do things. When I ask my friends if they want to go fire a spud gun at some targets they're usually down, but when I ask if they want to build one, almost all of them show no interest.

It's the rule of the internet, 1% are actually producing content, 10% are interacting and the rest are just spectators. Be glad that you're part of the 1% ;)

Ultimately, we live in a world where "reaction videos" are a popular phenomenon. Literally millions of people spend time watching videos of other people watching videos. If that's all you have to do to have a shot at international fame, who is going to make the effort to understand the principles of using gas to launch projectiles and the construction methods to bring them to fruition?
