I have about $50-$70 dollars to spend on a gun. What would you say is the best? I would like to build a newmatic gun. Also would like interchangeble barrels but not a must.

so build one like that, make up ur own plans, its more fun that way. look around for ideas and build.

you may be hard pressed to build a good sized pneumatic (not newmatic) gun on that budget, i'd go for an upgraded combustion, clear chamber, LED chamber fan, stuff like that

my paintball sniper only cost about $70 give or take $5

20$ + 6 $ + 6$ + 13$ + 5$ + 3*5$ + 2$ +5$
So, it cost 72$ to build my co-axial diaphram (2" barrel) with moded sprinkler vaulve exaust.

And, yes, it is possible to have interchangable barrels on a co-axial. I'll explain it at a later date.

i was talking about like 4" chamber, 2x 1" sprinklers and a golf ball barrel, to me good size might be big to you

Cost me $2.50 to build my pneumatic. Just used old parts lying around. haha

Pneumatic guns are a lot more customizable than combustion ones. For instance, you can change firing range by measurable units, where as combustion guns are just spray and hope for the best. In fact, i will probably never use a combustion gun because of three things:
1) Its really loud and obnoxious.
2) Its dangerous. Like deathly dangerous.
3) Its sometimes illegal.
So if you have 70 dollars to blow on PVC and sprinkler valves, go for it! Just check with your state/province to see if its legal.

mac_user you do realize that your pneumatics are MUCH MORE dangerous than a combustion? you're getting at the most 50 psi in a combustion where you get 100 psi in a pneumatic, which can shatter joints (especially with high flow valves, the recoil can snap barrels).

True as that is, i have heard from friends and reliable sources that alot of the time combustion cannons can LIGHT ON FIRE! Not to mention that alot of beginners just slap the endcap on and it fires off the back end and takes out a leg! I also don't want to be working with fire when it comes to projectile launching. Everyone has preferences- Religion, computers, spudguns, and i wont be the one to force anything on anyone. I am merely offering my personal advice spudshot. If you think pneumatic is dangerous, then use combustion! I think that combustion is dangerous, so i'll use pneumatic. But maybe one day i will use combustion just to see if i like it. Thats the Mac vs. Windows arguement isn't it?

I have a combustion and I had 2 accidents with it, once I was looking down into the combustion to see if it was sparking and it singed my hair, another time my friend didnt screw the endcap on tight enough and it flew off and singed his arm hair. Both times it was our own stupidity. If you use it smartly its not dangerous at all, but i would rather get hit by a combustion than a pneumatic, because pneumatics are so much more powerful.

I don't mean to critcize, but looking down the barrel was just plain dumb.

Good Call Thai Fighter No offense by the way to Cole. A pnewmatic should be treated the same way a combustion is. So, its all up to you to make the right choices regarding pneumatics and combustions.

If your going to spend 40$ on valves, I saw some nice brass 2" ones on ebay. They where going really cheap - 35$.

They would look great if you got some really fine sandpaper (couple thousand grit) and pollished them. (of course, you'll need lower grit sandpaper too)

You could probably find pollishing directions on some car website.
