3/4" SCH 40 pipe with a little sanding will fit in 1" pipe then make a bottom out of a plastic material and glue it on.

BTW got any thing you can tell us about this mystery gun  , ill keep it on the

u mean tell u about it in pm or on here...well i cant reveal alot but i can say some stuff...

1. it is a homemade piston valve....the piston is machined from teflon and is within a 1000ths of and inch so i dont need orings.....

2. it has a custom paintjob--moms and artist...

3. most of it is copper.....

cant tell u anymore....but i will try that sch 40 3/4 thing im still open to more suggestions though....i dont really want my sabbot to go far i want it to be something soft so i can maybe soak some people from like 10 feet away

edit: be back in an hour watching new mythbusters....

So you're going to shoot it at people?

Have you ever had cold water sprayed at you when it's moving really fast? It hurts...feels like a razor. Try drinking out of the "mist" setting on a garden hose to see what I mean.

This is true. I guess if you're not shooting at me then it's not really my problem.

Can someone explain whats the purpose of the sabot and if there is a stopper at the end of the barrel keep it in or if it flies out with the projectile (here the water)?

Seperate from the above post....

Water should be safe if pressured to a moderate low PSI. In paintball games there are landmines and such that are charged with 12g CO2's and then shoot out paint (a supposedly) 15-40 feet.

What about expanding foam??? Get a section of pipe the same diameter as your barrel and grease it up so the foam wont stick. Spray some in and then cut it into little sabots. I dunno how well it would work though.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

I say forget the sabot all together but put a drain valve on the gun somewhere, like a spit valve on a trumpet or sax.

No, no... don't forget about the sabot.
In my experience, unsaboted water scarcely moves. Which is boring.

On the other hand, the only thing you'll get which actually stops all the water from flowing is something with an O-ring or such device... so you should probably get a drain system of some sort.
