solvent alternative?

would it be possible to join PVC pipe together using other methods besides solvent? like, could you use superglue or gorilla glue or something like that?

no, that would only glue the pvc, using the correct PVC primer and cement will actually fuse the pipe to the fitting, making a MUCH stronger bond

Think of acrylate glues like super/gorrilla glue like velcro. they are attatched to the objects, but it is what provides the bond. With a solvent, think of it as welding, it melts the two materials, and they reform inside of eachother, so it is like one section of pipe.

ok, thanks. you may have just saved my life. i'll go with solvent.
