Whats the trick? Just post a lot of comments or what? I see some people with a high ranking that barely have any posts then i see some with tons of spudbux with little posts. I wanna earn more spudbux and get a higher ranking, what would i do?

The under lined above is considered 'post whoreing' and is not toleraded. Don't tell everybody about anything illeagle you mite have done or plan on doing. Talk to pcguy, if he thinks you are good for it he mite bump up ranking, but by all means, don't expect it. No i don't know how he thinks, he has said many times to ask him. You mite get lucky.wangpushups wrote:Whats the trick? Just post a lot of comments or what? Seems like a lot of things on this website aren't tolerated...Understandable.
We want to keep this forum legal, as soon as we start discussing about "everything that should not be spoken of" this forum turns illigal and some spudgun hater could sue us and shut us down.wangpushups wrote:Seems like a lot of things on this website aren't tolerated...Understandable.
Thats why we have strict rules.
Furthermore, spamming for post count may not be illigal but it DOES annoy all other members of the community. Resulting in banning etc.
Who cares about rank anyway.
The only thing that interested me was the spudbux to get a custom title and signature ability.
Longer posts earn more spudbux up to 5 per post so you've generally got to add substance to it. A higher posting rank is just a lame thing to chase after and post whoring to get it can get you banned for lowering the tone in here.

Ranking is based on post count, more post count the higher rank.wangpushups wrote:Whats the trick? Just post a lot of comments or what? If someone has a lower post count then someone else, they cannot have a better rank.
The rank system is colour coded, can't remember but from memory it goes:
Yellow
Light Blue
Red
Dark Blue
Mods have our own rank of red and blue stars, PCGUY has blue and green I think and donating members have spuds in theirs.
Once you get 5 yellow stars as a rank, the next rank will be 1 light blue star.
People with tons of spudbux and little posts have probably not just spent their spudbux, unless they're an old member and some donated it to them while the donating option was still available.
Currently, I think you deserve your current rank, so don't go post spamming everywhere because having a rank that doesn't fit your knowledge is just being superficial, believe me new members really do judge people by their rank.
When I first joined, if anyone had a higher rank then me i'd take their advice no matter what, but if you have a rank that doesn't fit your knowledge people may get bad info from you.
That's why spamming isn't the way to go, generally more genuine posts you make the more knowledge you get.
Ooh, I have 5 cyan stars!
I usually put my spudbux in to the "bank", might as well earn a few more and get a custom title quicker.
Posting a lot of comments does not have to be post whoring. JSR has a count of 13 a day on average, and that's not post whoring.
Post whoring is posting lots of comments without useful content. Everyone posts off topic occasionally. However, that's usually forgiven, as long as it's not excessive, and you've got a good head of sensible posts behind you as will.
You could post 100 useful posts a day, and nobody would give a monkeys, as long as you weren't double posting.
Post 5 useless comments a day and not much else (Hmm, we have a person around like that at the moment.) and you'll get kicked quite fast.

All in all, be active and have patience. But don't worry too much about the ranks or rank system; as long as you post good, accurate, and useful information, you will build up a good reputation among the members.

Well at least I answered your question, guess that was a waste of time on my behalf then, please only ask questions you want answers to.
