Chat issues?

Is anyone else getting an error when they try to open up chat--
The chat is currently down due to server overload.
What is the cause of this, and is there something that can be done about it?

I think it's been that way for a while. I think I remember a thread about it a short while ago, too. I can't seem to find it, though.
